2025-02-01 17:21:45 +0000 UTCI love this promotion! If I could watch their Friday night shows every week without having to pay $35 a month, you can bet your bottom dollar I totally would, and you can also bet your bottom dollar at the very first time I have money to start putting out 35 bucks a month to watch their shows will be when I start watching. If y’all have a hook up for your boy until then, anyone, y’all know what I’m talking about, just let me know. Honestly, the one thing I would correct that I have heard said is that they Almost always sell out, not to be mean or anything, because I don’t want it to come off that way, but that’s definitely an over exaggeration, however they do extremely well, and it’s impressive because they are running a 15,000+ seat arena weekly and often draw over 10,000, Even as hot as WWE is right now, they can’t even always sell out arenas of that size 2 nights in a row, and running the same arena every week wouldn’t go very well even for them, of course there are other substantial differences, such as the price of tickets and things of that nature, but make no mistake about it, no matter how you slice it, any company that can even sell 7000 tickets Weekly in the same venue, in the same city is impressive, that being said, it should be noted that a minority, but a substantial minority, of people at these shows are tourists, because this is something that natives will tell to tourists they should go see, it’s just part of Mexican culture, and often those tourists aren’t hard-core wrestling fans, they’re just people looking for something to do in Mexico City. CMLL is going through a hot time right now, so they often are selling 10,000+ tickets weekly, but it’s not a given, for instance, I think last Friday Drew about 8000.

2025-02-01 10:12:53 +0000 UTCTally mentioned the setup: This was in Arena Mexico, CMLL's home arena. Salvador Lutteroth, the owner of CMLL, had it built in 1956, and the promotion still owns the building to this day. That allows for all the creative camera angles and whatnot; they don't have to constantly setup and teardown for travel. It's often called "The Cathedral of Lucha Libre" and essentially only holds CMLL events with the occasional boxing show. Capacity of 16,500 and almost always sells out (or close to it) because tickets tend to be really affordable. The huge steps and long ramps lead to some of the coolest entrances in all of Wrestling.

2025-01-31 20:12:58 +0000 UTCGlad somebody showed CMLL. They are always top top top shows, the crowd is literally always cheering and booing, it never stops for 4 hours 5 times a week and pretty much is always sold out in Arena Mexico. CMLL by far is the best lucha libre and NEVER disappoints. If you ever have the chance to see it in your own time you will never be bored with their shows. If you ever go to Mexico you can't skip a show in Arena Mexico because you will have the best time. And it is important to note that shows in the 2020's look waaay better than this match in 2018 and that is saying something, plus they use a bell now. In regards the small guy he is Zachary the Parrot (El Perico Zacarias He usually) he usually wears a different (better) mask, but in this night the narrators mentioned he must have suffered an accident that made him look like that lol. CMLL has a division of small people and they usually have pre-show matches. People really enjoy it and its not something they mock. They have different characters to go with other wrestlers. Kemalito and Kemonito are two other examples. At the end they were not throwing garbage, the crowd throws some coins or even bills to the ring when matches are this good. And to answer your question 85% of the matches go to the third fall, but is never a given or predictable who is going to get the third fall.

2025-01-31 19:44:43 +0000 UTCGlad you two enjoyed! - Lucha Underground was filmed in the U.S. but did have a lot of Mexican wrestlers a part of it as the name would suggest. - I would say maybe around 85-90% of matches that have 3 falls go to all three falls. Matches that go only two falls tend to be done to set up a different match or a rematch. Title matches are actually outliers as they only go 1 fall, same thing goes for tournament matches. - The guy with Cavenario is Zacarías. He is a part of CMLL’s Mini-Estrella division, which is for wrestlers of a similar stature as him. They often times accompany and act as managers of sorts for other wrestlers. - This took place at Arena Mexico which is their main venue which they also own (I’m pretty sure they own all the venues they regularly use.) They hold events in Arena Mexico multiple times a week and is where they hold their most important shows of the year as well.
