Josh asked Tally who her least favourite in the match is part way through so even though no one asked I’ll list mine. Everyone else should do the same. It’ll be fun. Orton Rollins Reigns AJ Jericho Owens Bray Braun Shane Ambrose

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

A fun little thing about this match is that the end is edited because after Bray and Randy win, JBL shouts "RAW WINS!" so they edited it to him saying "Smackdown wins" lol

DAVESTO - David Ausbun

Also, the entrances are pretty much the same every time so if you’ve seen them before you’re not missing much.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Someone else goes over after Randy did too

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

I like how much of a time capsule this match is aswell. U got Ambrose and AJ, randy and wyatt , Kevin and Jericho who would have programmes coming up

Diruroru

I'd never seen anything like the double rotation moonsault back then and even now its basically never done. It's just a crazy move. The 630 senton and other crazy flips have been way more commonplace for ages now though so i get why u didn't pop, but nooooo was never a ciritisism though , just a comment on our different watching experiences. If I say anything like that it's never a big deal You guys is cool people u know. This match was fun

Diruroru

Despite being late stage Vince, Smackdown was awesome at this time. The main event picture had AJ Styles as a solid champion with solid challengers like Dean Ambrose and John Cena. The mid card had The Miz at his peak as the IC champion. The women’s division had a lot of great talent. The Wyatt family was getting good again. Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon were great at there GM roles. Of course, most of those things would be ruined in 2017 because Vince is gonna Vince.

Ryan Redd

See?!

I was happy to get some of the entrances in there as a little extra, even though it was a bit over on time. I figured it would add to the experience.

At the end of the day, I'm still just watching wrestling with my spouse. So we enjoy talking here and there like we would during anything else. This is not performance, you're simply getting to watch it the way we would with us, which we enjoy. As for skipping through entrances, there's a rule for Tally tier submissions to stay under an hour. The full segment including entrances and pre match vignette greatly surpassed that limit. So rather than skip straight to the match (which is what the person who sent us the video actually sent us), I went ahead and watched some of the entrances anyway as an exception to the rule. I have not skipped entrances in any of the other 200+ watch alongs. I'm fairly certain I explain all of this in the video itself, but in case it was missed, there ya go.

Dport

That's awesome

After Shane got hit by the spear randy rolls out of the ring and reassures Shane's kids at ringside

Sam Tolan

Not sure if you know this but fun fact. Chris Jerico's father is Ted Irvine, who was a professional hockey player. He played for the New York Rangers.

Karen

Seth current face persona is the same as his heel persona he was doing all the same stuff . crowd turned him face due to the entrance sing a long pretty much

cmike5290 .

Fun fact, this survivor series will be 12 years since the shield debut

Matthew Harvey

Roman was US champion at this time as a punishment for failing the wellness policy. Mind you, this was a time when the US and IC title was way less valued.

.

For the most part, Raw was always live. I think part of the reason they called it Smackdown Live was because after the 2016 draft, Smackdown went live on Tuesdays instead if being taped on Tuesday and airing on Thursday/Friday. They didn't call it Smackdown Live for too long. It lasted until Smackdown went to Fox in 2019. Then that era of Smackdown lasted until about two months ago when they went to the USA network.

Christopher Barnes

This was a great survivor series match during a time when people felt like this traditional format felt cold. Which is why it's so fondly remembered.

.

Idk if it was answered but It was called Smackdown live beacause it used to be taped on Tuesdays and brodcast on either Thursday/Friday so the big thing was it now being live at that time

Gotta be honest I love this channel look forward to seeing reactions to great matches but Josh just seems to pay less and less attention and just chats about unrelated stuff for minutes on end. Tally is always actually locked in to what's going on riding the wave of the story, wanting to see the entrances while he just skips through. Still love the channel and happy to be here just wanted to share how I felt.

Michael Harrop

I absolutely regretted not sending the Peacock version once I didn't but was a little too late on that so I'm glad y'all did the entrances honestly And thank you for the compliment on my next level planning to get two submissions this month my IQ was working overtime on that one💀

Paul Watson

Shane got a little stiff with Chris Jericho when he got into the match. This is what Chris Jericho said in an interview. "And so we get in the ring together, me and Shane, and we go to lock up and he punches me in the face. So then I go to lock up and he punches me in the face a second time. Hits me again, in the face, I roll to the floor, I'm pissed off, I slam the mat, I flip the fucking desk thing over, you know, there's a little, uh, like edge piece, I flip the f*cking desk thing over. I get back in, he punches me in the face again. I'm like, alright, throw me in the corner, uh, watch the boot, watch the drop kick. He comes to the corner, I kick him right in his face, I jump in the second rope, and dude, I jumped up, and gave him like a Jean-Claude Van Damme double kick, pushing out and standing right in his face. Boom, he goes down. And I'm looking at him and he's, he could tell he's dazed a bit. He's like, are you okay? I'm like, calm the fuck down."

Christopher Barnes

Probably fairer to say a demotion than a punishment.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Can't believe Tally would BURY AJ Styles like that smh

Flair

Also if you look closely after shane's elimination, you can see Orton walking away from telling shane's kids to not worry

Matthew Harvey

I think in Vince eyes, it was a punishment, to go from the main event to the midcard

Matthew Harvey

This feels like a life time ago I swear, it’s one of the best Survivor Series matches I’ve ever seen. 2016 outside of Wrestlemania was golden. We got the brand split after half a decade of it being dead. Smackdown moving to Tuesdays and becoming live. AJ Styles’ Rumble debut, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn and other NXT callups. This was THAT YEAR man. It felt like for the first time in a long time, things would truly get great again. (how wrong we were lmao) I wouldn’t trade it for what we have now though

Snazzyway

To suggest someone winning a title as punishment is an interesting philosophy to have

Shaun Carpenter

Even when he was punishing Roman, Vince couldn't help but push him.

Charlie

Mine was the only Survivor Series elimination match that’s been submitted so far

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Two arguable Mount Rushmore worthy stars debuted in these type of matches in 1990 and 1996. I wonder if any Tally Tier patrons will submit those

Shaun Carpenter

“Punishment”

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

I believe Roman getting the US Title was a punishment for failing the wellness policy

Matthew Harvey

I'm not even that much of a WWE fan, especially not late Vince era - but I will say 2016 Smackdown was actually really great. Great in-ring action, interesting personalities, dynamic storylines. It was really something special. People to this day will talk about '2016 Smackdown' in hallowed terms and for good reason. Of course, it eventually fell to shit, as all good WWE things did. Still, this match brings back some good memories of some good times as a wrestling fan. Thanks for the upload.

Will Humphries

Ooh this is a longen but a bloody good one. Top five all time Survivor Series elimination match. This was the first year the brand split was back so they weren’t doing champion vs champion matches. Both Women’s Champions, Charlotte and Becky, were in the women’s five on five match, the Raw and SmackDown Tag Champions The New Day and Heath Slater and Rhyno were in the tag teams elimination match and the Intercontinental Champion The Miz defended against Sami Zayn. They also had a Cruiserweight Championship match, where the stipulation was if the challenger won the division would move to SmackDown as it was exclusive to Raw at the time and Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg in the latters first WWE match in twelve years. James Ellsworth became a meme as “the chinless guy” when he was Braun Strowman’s first opponent after the draft as Braun was separated from The Wyatt Family. People liked him so they had him hang around for the rest of 2016. He’d later become the manager for Carmella before being released in 2018. The two Japanese commentators, the one on the left is the brother of the guy yelling “I choppy choppy your pee pee!” On the Monday Night War episode about the Cruiserweights while the guy on the right is Funaki, a former Cruiserweight Champion and SmackDowns number one announcer. I assume they still have all these international commentators but they just don’t throw to them anymore. Most of the time now they don’t even have the Spanish announce team at ringside. The only time they have a different language team is the Arabic team at Saudi shows. Out of all the entrances, you gotta watch Bray’s. You just gotta. Everyone loved Jericho and KO when this match happened but I hated their pairing. Jericho was the most over person in the company and I couldn’t give less of a shit. Yes The Shield were broken up. This is five months after the match at Money in the Bank between Roman and Seth where Ambrose cashed in the briefcase. It’s two years before Roman made his Leukaemia announcement.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Oh god I'd completely erased James Ellsworth from my memory
