This is a really fun match that I have a couple issues with. Overall, a really good match, though. Pat McAfee was actually very effective at being an entitled egotistical heel in this feud. He also did very well in this match. It didn't hurt that he had a really good group of talent backing him up. Overall, I think this match suffers from being in the pandemic, which still feels like a bit of a holding pattern where nothing that important happened to me. The piped in crowd noise and the screens in the crowd are just so distracting. The other main issue I have that really irks me about this match is McAfee kicking out of the Panama Sunrise. I understand that this era of NXT had the trope of everyone kicking out of finishers but Pat McAfee, a person whose gimmick is that he is not a pro wrestler and had to build a team around himself to protect himself and compete in the match, should not be kicking out of the finishing move of Adam Cole, the guy who just held your main title for over a year. Sorry but that just buries the move in my opinion. Also, I just hope Adam Cole is able to be used better in AEW soon. His injuries have really been unfortunately timed because it felt like he was really getting onto something each time. Hopefully something will click with him soon in AEW because I think he still has the potential to do great stuff.

2024-11-06 15:24:56 +0000 UTCTally mentioned she thought it’d be a continued mat between the rings but in WCW during War Games it was just a hole. You guys may have heard of Bobby Fish before without realizing it. He’s the guy in a clip from TNA that says “Folks, where’s the lie?” And the crowd is dead silent. He was the least interesting member of the UE and screwed up big time because he tried to go back to WWE after H took over but without Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly, H had no interest in Fish so he had to go to Impact which didn’t last long. Then he’s basically fallen off the face of the earth. Fish also got injured in this match, tearing one of his triceps. Also I’m pretty sure no one has suggested The Bloodline WarGames match because we all figured you would have gone back to watch it. They had mentioned it that Dunne had been in WarGames before, it was two years before this match where he teamed with Ricochet and the War Raiders against the UE. Yeah so Danny Burch, really boring wrestler. Oney Lorcan was a little bit more entertaining but not by much. That’s cool, I didn’t know this but the Washington Capital’s NHL team uses Lorcan’s CFO$ theme Combative as a field goal theme from 2017 to 2019. Pat should not have kicked out of the Panama Sunrise. The move Strong hit at the end where he went for a suplex and flipped them over so his opponent lands on his knees is called End of Heartache. The tag move done right after is called the High Low or Total Elimination. And you guys liked this and while it is a great match, it’s not even the best UE WarGames Match. The best is 2019.

2024-11-06 00:12:30 +0000 UTCI think we all assumed you had seen the Bloodline War Games match, given how big of fans of Roman and Jey and whatnot you both are, so none of us thought to suggest it. I imagine it will show up right quick here in the future lol.

2024-11-05 22:56:37 +0000 UTCY'know I'll just say it I don't think I like this match much besides a few moments The pandemic is just so damn depressing to watch and it's nobody's fault but Christ the fake crowd and all that is just...blegh

2024-11-05 19:47:46 +0000 UTCThat’s a really great War Games match! It sucks that it was 2020. I think that the live NXT crowd would’ve added a lot of magic to it. With all the love I have for this one, NXT War Games 2019 (Team Ciampa vs Undisputed Era) still has the special place in my heart and I hope you’ll be able to watch it soon!

2024-11-05 19:13:21 +0000 UTCIf you watched last weeks Dynamite. You saw Kyle O'Reilly and Rodrick Strong during Adam Cole's segment. Rodrick was one of the the guys who came out to the ring and was the main one talking to Adam. Kyle was the one who they cut to watching the monitor after that segment

2024-11-05 18:20:14 +0000 UTCAlso funny you mention how whenever you say you don't remember a wrestler, the comments mention where exactly you saw them because you did see Strong & O'Reilly at All In.

2024-11-05 17:14:14 +0000 UTCKyle O'Reilly is Canadian not Irish, and he's in AEW. Roderick Strong is in AEW too.

2024-11-05 17:13:09 +0000 UTCI was just thinking about the feud between Adam Cole and Pat! I loved how they blurred the lines when they had Adam Cole go on his Podcast and stuff.
