2024-10-25 13:22:49 +0000 UTCThis 2 match series was great. Especially because Kenny worked heel in the first match and Ospreay worked heel in the second, so they felt different enough. This one was also a bit more gritty and storyline based, because Callis is there, and Ospreay is willing to do whatever it takes to beat Kenny. AEW generally operates from a "referees discretion" mindset. Which could work if they consistently were more lenient toward big money matches, that would be a disaster if ended in DQ. But some refs in particular will let anything happen even in random tv matches. I like this match more than the first, for storyline puproses, but I think the first one was better and more well-paced as a pure match. Which says a lot given how good this match was. Kenny is more experienced/better than Will as the heel in control spots (as in the wrestling component of being a heel), but Ospreay did it well. Especially terms of character work. But it's like comparing a 9.5/10 vs 10/10 match (in my opinion). I assume you'll end up seeing that match too some day.

Rules are a suggestion for the most part and shouldn’t be taken seriously. Just enjoy the chaos. It’s a lot more fun when you ignore all the logic holes.

2024-10-25 00:43:23 +0000 UTCI agree, obviously they can make up their rules as they go, but I was wondering why they were letting Callis stay after he got kicked out. But other than that, wow!! Thanks for submitting my first Will heel match lol I loved it! 😄 for people who don't really like the flippy stuff (yeah he still had some and im glad), but I feel like he really showed how versatile he can be.

One bit of context, no one in AEW has kicked out of the One Winged Angel except for Kenny. Only thing I would’ve changed was keep Callis out and give the screwdriver to one of the security guards, but otherwise 5/5 stars!

That's part of what makes a pro wrestling match really good, every move means something to help build up to the end. An amazingly structured match. Also, the one moment where the crowd was chanting "You sick fuck" when Ospreay had a submission on Kenny. It's probably because the ppv was in Canada and the submission Ospreay used was the crossface, known finisher by infamous Chris Benoit (Canadian wrestler).

2024-10-24 23:15:11 +0000 UTCForgot how good this match was. This was my second time ever seeing Ospreay. The first time he had a match with Orange Cassidy at Forbidden Door the year before. Although it was basically a mid card match it pretty much stole the show. I hadn't really watched anything in Japan but I heard all about how good Kenny Vs Ospreay was back in the January of 2023 so it made me excited to see this happen and it did not disappoint. Now we are spoilt to see him every wednesday haha. I cannot wait till Kenny has recovered and is back full time.

2024-10-24 23:02:27 +0000 UTCI mean, that goes to show how good they both are, they just kept the pace moving both men’s gas tanks must be mad, also knowing that so often Kenny can do such a amazing performances so banged up without anyone noticing. I’m not sure what was exactly going on with him at this stage but I will always be in awe that during his Title Reign in AEW, he was putting on bangers while wrestling with Vertigo. Again, both men are masters at their craft, so creative.

Will can be such a good babyface that you can really root for in matches, but he can also be a very funny and entertaining heel. His moveset is also so adaptable, it can be flashy and exciting for a face but devastating and brutal at points for a heel. Both men are wizards at their craft and this match just flew by.
