Context from Dillon: After the last match of these two you watched Triple H would have a nine month reign as World Heavyweight Champion before losing it to Goldberg, only to win it back about three months later. Shawn would feud with Chris Jericho going into WrestleMania XIX (which I'm certain you'll react to at some point) followed by feuds with Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista (all of whom were in Triple H's group Evolution). On the final Raw of 2003 in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas, HBK challenged Triple H for the World Title in a match that ended in a draw when both mens shoulders were down after Sweet Chin Music (HBK fell onto H and his shoulders ended up down). This would lead to a rematch, a Last Man Standing Match at the Royal Rumble which would end in a draw. Chris Benoit would win the Rumble Match and challenge Triple H for the World Title at WrestleMania XX. HBK however would superkick Benoit and sign his name with the match becoming a Triple Threat as a result. Benoit would go on to win at WrestleMania as well as the rematch at Backlash. The video promo picks up just after that. Also the song in the promo is Back Up by 12 Stones.

I don't know what you consider hating, but if people are just responding to your criticisms then I think that's fair. I'm not the biggest Ospreay fan myself so it's not like I would pile on.

There are good things about this match, I like Triple H working over the back. The blade jobs are great. On the whole though this match kinda stinks IMO. *1/2

2024-10-24 07:06:54 +0000 UTCTriple H was a great wrestler, he just constantly insisted on wrestling the wrong kind of match. Long tests of endurance aren’t really the style he should be wrestling. Triple H PPV matches should be capped at like 25 minutes, and when they were, they were usually pretty good.

I think it’s fantastic match but it’s ten minutes too long. Also the Goldberg interview you’re talking about Josh when he headbutted the ring post, that was the infamous match with Undertaker at Super Show Down 2019 in Saudi Arabia. Edit: Let’s dial that back to a great match not a fantastic match.
