They’d usually have a tag line attached to them to like in your house: mind games, in your house: ground zero, etc. similar to the way nxt used to call all their PLEs nxt takeover. They used this branding from 95 until the beginning of 99. Though starting in 98 the branding was more subtle, they had retired the cartoony in your house logo and instead the taglines themselves were featured more prominently on posters, logos, promo material, etc.

They'd been teasing a debut of Undertaker's little brother whom he apparently killed in a house fire when they were younger and Paul Bearer was bringing the little brother back who's name was revealed to be Kane. The mask is worn to hide the burn scars from Kane's face that was caused by The Undertaker burning down their home. It's funny cause they'd been teasing Kane's debut for weeks. Like we kinda figured when Paul came out beside Kane that's who it was lol. Vince cracks me up.

Around 1997 is the time they started to stop doing that. And they brought back In Your House for a NXT special for nostalgia a few years ago. Also the Cell is actually 16 feet tall at the time and it was same for the Taker and Mick Foley match. But now it’s actually 20 feet and yaa get ready to see some certain idiot fly off that 20 foot cage🤣

2024-09-25 17:15:35 +0000 UTCI watched a youtube playlist compilation of the entire original Kane and Undertaker storyline. Probably a top 5 WWE storyline in my book. It added a lot more depth and a more nuanced aspect to the Undertaker character. As over the top as it was, the storyline actually made Undertaker seem more human and someone you can feel empathy for, rather than just a cool badass.

2024-09-25 16:55:33 +0000 UTCI didn't add this because I didn't want to you to be looking out for it but a month or two prior Paul had said that Undertakers brother Kane had survived a fire that Undertaker thought had killed him and his parents and that he was coming. Everyone at the time had basically forgotten about it and then this happens Kanes official debut nobody was expecting. The winner of this match would go on to face Bret at Survivor Series which ended up being the Montreal Screwjob.

Cornette was the guy who came up with the Hell in a Cell structure he took the Wargames cage and tweaked it a bit for this. He also was part of the braintrust that came up with the Kane gimmick. 2024-09-25 15:38:01 +0000 UTC“in your house” were a ppv series between the big 4 ppvs (rumble , mania , summer slam & survivor series) it was WWF’s response to WCW having ppvs every month cause before that WWF would only do the big 4 and some ppvs shows here and there & also NXT revived the name for some ppvs recently.
