Exactly. I remember when triple h lost the title to Goldberg Jerry lawler said FINALLY 😂😂😂😂if only he knew what was coming with Cena and Brock and Roman

Phillyman!!

It's wild to me that 9 or 10 months isn't considered a long title reign anymore. I don't mind that title reigns are longer now but I wish they would move the titles around a bit more.

And they don't always sound great either

Kendo sticks hurt like hell because the wood pieces pinch the flesh upon impact

Daniel Carpio

still way too long lol

Thoughts are?

Better than the blood drinking match.

Cole and Kyle O’Reilly did one in NXT in 2021.

Sherri Martel is the one singing “Ooh Shawn” at the start. There’s also a nightmare version on YouTube where Vince sings it.

Came here to say this lol finish did a great job of not rly putting one over the other

Woozie

Early 2000's heel Triple H was so good

Also in regards to the montreal screwjob, WWE did themselves no favors because they kept on rehashing that finish. They did one the very next year with Rock/Mankind. They also did it atleast 2 more times in the same city. One with CM Punk and Undertaker and another one with Natalya and Charlotte with Bret at ringside. Hell, even TNA had their own version called the "Orlando" Screwjob

I miss this era. Getting WWF/WWE magazine every month with cool posters

Yes that a great one i know someone thats his fav match ever

In regard to Shawn being a lot of people's favorite: Shawn was one of my favorites during the 90s for sure. I watched WCW first so he wasn't my first favorite (that was Sting), but when I discovered WWF he was quickly my favorite there. Continued to be a fan through the DX era until he retired for the first time, but Austin and Rock moved ahead of him in my tier of favs. As I got older I appreciated Michaels even more because I started to understand that I liked him mostly because of how engaging his matches were. It really didn't matter who Michaels wrestled it was probably going to be a good time. When he came out of retirement he shot right back up the list. I don't know how popular it is to say this, but I actually think he was better in the ring when he returned. Solidified himself even more as one of the best in ring performers ever. Related to that, I never liked Bret Hart growing up because of the rivalry with Shawn Michaels. Not seeing wrestling through a child's eyes changed my opinion Hart a lot. He was just as good as Michaels as an in ring performer, but in a different way. It's still sad that his career got cut short and he didn't have a second act the way Michaels was able to.

Shawn Does Sing his theme BTW

cmike5290 .

I think he's just talking about the intro. The screaming part lol

Dport

If im not mistaken Shawn does sing his theme

cmike5290 .

Way too long of a match, pretty heatless as well. Some leg work from Hunter on Shawn which didn't really lead anywhere. Ric Flair was the greatest worker in this match, his stooging for Michaels was so great and the best blade job in the match. *3/4

As of right now the last time wwe ever did a 3 stages of hell match was a few years ago i think it was Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano who was in the final 3 stages of hell so far.

Shawn Michaels in the 90s before he found God and got rid of his drug problem(which I think is around 2000-2001) was a real menace. People back in the day said he was TERRIBLE to work with. He's obviously not that same guy now, but back in the day… if he wasn't a fantastic wrestler and if the fans didn't love him, Vince would have fired him the first chance he got

Matthew Harvey

Hilariously this title reign by triple h went until September so 9 or 10 months and that was considered a LONG title reign 😂😂😂

Phillyman!!

I really like watching the matches with guys you know later on in life are good friends. It adds something special to their relationship now as a fan knowing that they beat the hell out of each other. Growing up if you would have told me the two guys from DX were gonna be running WWE and NXT in the future I’d have looked at you like you were nuts. But they really do fit in those roles perfectly. It’s almost like nobody saw how good they were gonna be at their jobs until they were allowed to be given all the reigns to it and really kick things into gear. There’s stuff that both of them do now in terms of anything that people don’t like but they’re doing the best they can. NXT is about to go on the CW with a bigger audience and WWEs going on Netflix next year. I’d say they’ve done their jobs in terms of getting more eyeballs on the product. NXT is slowly but surely coming along and it’s a fun time every week to watch. People love to hate on Booker Ts commentary but I absolutely love it. Hes kinda like a veteran Pat Mcafee where hes just having a fun ass time out there and just calling wrestling in a very chill way OHHHH YEAHHH MANNN!!!!!!!

John Coffey

I remember this match being an interminable slog but maybe i was too harsh back then. hold my beer, i’m going in

Will Humphries

No, Shawn doesn't do the intro of his song. Yes, if the cage lowers, they can still use weapons because a cage match is no DQ, but you already saw them use weaopns. I know you usually try to guess the location that they're in. I didn't see you guess it, but they're in Sunrise, Florida for this show. This is actually the PPV a month after Survivor Series in 2002 where you saw that first Elimination Chamber last month. Armageddon was usually the last PPV in December in the 2000s before they replaced it with the TLC PPV in 2009. Like I said before, that quadruple table spot is my favorite table spot. This was a little after the start of Triple h's reign of Terror on RAW (2002-2005) Always going over, and consistently held the World Heavyweight Title during this time.

Christopher Barnes

The HBK running NXT nowadays is a goofy fun loving dad to all the NXT wrestlers. Man’s has done a complete 180 to who he was back then.

Shawn Michaels in the 90s was pretty bad back stage. Its when he was battling addiction and when he only cared about himself and his group of friends (he literally influenced show cards unfairly bc he had that much pull on vince). After his injury and return in 2002 people say he was like a different person compared to beforehand

Jayshawn Robinson

Oh thats funny, as HBK made his entrance I realized his theme was playing on 2K24

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Another great 3 stages of hell match and probably the most famous. No way out 2001 Austin vs hhh
