Hangman Page Storyline. The Good, The Bad, and The Elite

Comments

As far as Hangman drinking goes, before Covid he would literally go over to a fan drinking beer in the crowd and take it and drink it. He’d share with the crowd often. Good times.

The “radio show” you saw was F4W as stated, Figure 4 Weekly. Bryan Alvarez is always fun to listen to. He will tell you what he likes and doesn’t like for WWE and AEW. Their YouTube channel always has a 5 minute or so clip about the big angles of the week, and it’s often enough that you don’t need to find the whole hour elsewhere. Alvarez also penned the book “The Death of WCW” which is pretty popular

U can watch busted open on sirius xm

I want to open this by saying that I do enjoy AEW and the Young Bucks but I really don't like their promo style. It always feels like everything's a joke and nothing is serious. Even in that last promo, that promo has the ability to be very strong and emotional but it felt like they kept peppering jokes in and it ruined the gravity of the promo in my opinion. I just can't take them seriously. I know it's a nitpick but man it annoys me so much.

It’s was someone’s suggestion for their Tally Tier submission.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

I've seen you over there!

Nate Cruz

Going In Raw is easily the best.

There's a bunch of great podcasts out there for wrestling. Going in Raw is a personal favorite, Chris Van Vliet does some excellent interviews w modern stars and retired ones as well, Cultaholic and What culture do some great shows, notsamwrestling, there's quite a lot actually.

Nate Cruz

Mate, can you please help me. If you’re a Tally Tier, could you make part 3 your tally tier?? Totally cool if not, I understand completly

If you’re looking for wrestling radio, you should check out Busted Open on Sirius XM. Phenomenal 3 hr program every day from 9AM-12PM ET. They also go up on demand in the afternoon each day. Really great insight from the hosts who are mostly former wrestlers. It’s a daily staple of mine!

Unfortunately this level of storytelling from AEW is long gone when it comes to the tag division. For about the first 3 years of AEW, they were the peak of tag team wrestling. In regards to wrestling ability and storylines, they were completely untouchable. They’ve definitely lost their way and so many people, myself included, are hoping they find their way back to tag team greatness. They definitely still have the roster to do so. I’ll have to check specifics but they put on SO many amazing tag matches between 2019 and 2022 that I hope get submitted. They can still put on crazy good tag matches every now and then. Like the one I remember being the best is FTR vs Bullet Club Gold from some point last year on one of their tv shows.

Finally I’m glad you got to watch this, are you going to watch E03? or is it just this video because the story is just getting started

Abdullah

Glad this was suggested. It's my absolute favorite storyline AEW has ever done.

Drew Or Die

I wouldn’t say in all of wrestling, but definitely in all of AEW history

Jakob Micheal

Hangman Page is the best character in the history of wrestling imo.

Wilson Simons

if you get a chance u should watch hangman vs swerve texas death match at full gear 2023 before their cage match at all out on saturday! or maybe save it for a later patreon watchalong, it is one of the most brutal and disgusting matches ever but it is also one of the best. highly recommend!

Dre Mercy

I didn't want to suggest the Texas Deathmatch as I wasn't sure they were ready for it yet. But I agree it's a must haha

BazMan01

The Adam page story is some of the best storytelling AEW has ever done and I am excited for the next part

Jakob Micheal

Ahh this was good times

Diruroru

This didn’t really get into the meat and potatoes of the story. Episode 3 has a lot of twists and turns and where everything ramps up

Wilson Simons

Same. Love how much variety we've been getting from everyone. I've been able to both re-live memories and experience new matches for the first time ❤️

Also - I don't know what order you were planning to watch the September Tally suggestions in but it might be a good idea to watch the Swerve/Hangman match from Full Gear 2023 before All Out since the rematch is taking place there.

No doubt the timing is a coincidence but it's interesting that you've both gotten a glimpse of the 'Anxious Millennial Cowboy' version of Hangman ahead of All Out this weekend.. where you'll get to see where he's been driven to by his obsession over Swerve Strickland.

Love your AEW reactions! 😊
