2024-08-26 16:07:04 +0000 UTCThis is one of the first TNA matches I remember watching. I've gone back to it and it's definitely not as good as I remembered it being but I still love this match. To give some context on Abyss since I don't think you've seen him before, he was one of the longest tenured TNA wrestlers. He was there from 2002 when they started until 2018. His character was at its core basically a mix of Mankind and the Undertaker/Kane. Kinda generic but interesting character but he was known for being in the hardcore/weapons-focused matches. This match type, the Monster's Ball, was basically made to be his signature match. He has been working as a producer for WWE since 2019. He also appeared in some segments with fellow former TNA wrestler AJ Styles in 2020.

2024-08-26 05:09:07 +0000 UTCIt is insane how much Jeff Hardy is out of place in this match, he doesn't even react to the bell and tries to continue doing his poses on the turnbuckle, forgets the ladder spot, hits Abyss with the chair on the table, and has to be walked through the finish by Rhyno. Almost all his tna matches he's clearly high. Props to Abyss and Rhyno for carrying and likely being the only sober people in this match.

He would be on the independent scene and be a part of TNA from 2003-4 to 2006. He’d return to WWE and reunite the Hardy Boyz tag team in 2006. He’d go on to have one of the best solo runs of the 2000s.
