2024-11-18 16:20:34 +0000 UTCReady to have your mind blown Josh, since you love finishing move pun names? Hitman. Sharpshooter. Natalya is the daughter of Bret’s long time tag team partner, Jim Neidhart. Jim married one of Bret’s sisters, so that’s how Bret is considered her uncle. With regards to the main event that evening, what makes more sense, Bret losing the World title match, or Bret winning and then having a ready made opponent in Owen who beat him in the same night?

2024-11-18 02:14:05 +0000 UTCBret is also one half of probably the greatest match of all time, so he has that going for him.

2024-08-26 20:14:14 +0000 UTCBret always comes off to me as very cold and mechanical, he doesn't show a lot of emotion in his matches, that aspect of him has always rubbed me the wrong way. He still has so many awesome matches in his catalogue that it's hard to argue against his greatness.

2024-08-26 20:12:33 +0000 UTCI hate technical wresting. I find it the most boring style. I’ve watched this match, Bret vs Bulldog, Piper, Austin, didn’t enjoy a single one of them.

2024-08-26 20:02:13 +0000 UTCYes, Bret Hart is a fundamentals guy, but he pulls off those fundamentals with such perfection that I'm sad you can't enjoy it. He just does the small things so well. With Bret, you're not gonna get any strong style stuff, or high flying, or even ZSJ level tekkers, but you'll get a well worked headlock, some nice punches, and a running sternum into the corner spot, and that often that can be enough to tell a great story.

2024-08-26 19:58:47 +0000 UTCI’m surprised it took this long for this to come up. To be perfectly honest, I hate Bret Hart as a wrestler. I’ll watch this to see if my opinions changed on him and this match, but I wouldn’t count on it. I just find him so god damn boring.

2024-08-26 00:36:55 +0000 UTCOr just a verbal giving up

2024-08-26 00:29:30 +0000 UTCThe announcer doing play by play was Vince. At this point it wasn't known he was the owner of the company. Good match.

2024-08-25 22:46:57 +0000 UTCTapping didn't become the method of giving up to a submission until years later.

2024-08-25 14:47:51 +0000 UTCYea so the physical tapping on the mat wouldn’t become a thing until Ken shamrock came to the WWF in 1997. Could be wrong but i believe that’s right. Before then it was a nod of the head.

2024-08-25 14:42:05 +0000 UTCAwesome match. I love how hard Bret has to work for his comeback at the start. Bret tweaking his knee on the crossbody to the outside is just classic pro-wrestling and Owen's leg work is phenomenal as expected. He's such a prick in this match, the way he mocks Bret's knee injury and how cocky he is every time he gets an advantage, it's great. ****1/2
