small part of the video but I was actually there when Lillian Garcia came back to announce Kofi's match! Was super special. It was Monday Night Raw on May 16th

imyourlocalbot

😆 thanks!

Tallywags

Loved watching Tally's reaction!

Chilly_Gamerboy

Oh for sure. I wasn't that invested in Roman beforehand but it turned me into a fan. If you like him already then it'll show how he's turned the real life distain towards his character into a massive positive.

aloneinabox

I would love to keep seeing more between them!

Tallywags

I don't think I've seen this! If I did, it might not have been all the way through. I'll check it out!

Tallywags

Emotional rollercoaster I swear 😆

Tallywags

Lol thanks I enjoyed it!

Tallywags

😆 thanks

The blue eye contacts are part of the reason the Big Dog just did not work. Vince treated him like a 2K Create a Wrestler and everyone could tell. If Vince didn’t like something, he’d change it, down to his eye color. And what Vince wanted Roman to be was a generic super hero, which is just not what Roman is best at as a performer. It just felt completely empty and lifeless. I’m so happy you got into wrestling after that stupid old man got booted out.

Ryan Redd

That was a great watch along! Tally's reaction was so good!

Jay Daniels

her reaction to this match is priceless

Optilliam

Also - just finished up the wrestling the match and Tally went through the exact same emotions I did a decade ago 🤣

aloneinabox

The detail and dedication he puts in is incredible. Have you seen his others? He uploads a wrestling video about once a year and whenever I see one go up, I cancel my plans for the day and move I front of my TV 😅

aloneinabox

Watched that in my first few months of being a wrestling fan. Great video!

Dport

Really been digging the Roman stuff so far this week and it made me think of this YouTube video from around a year ago. It's a feature length documentary/video essay a fan did detailing the entire Roman Reigns character arc and explains it in a much more detailed and logical way than they ever did on TV. It made me appreciate his character so much more. Probably too long and too late for Roman Week but may as well post the link here as even if you don't react to it, there might be people here that would be into it (and would strongly recommend watching it in your own time). https://youtu.be/UaDAzXVycR4?si=hPoPyEK5ZLNv_Oxm

It helps not knowing everything that was going on that year like who held the MIB case at the time. I was caught completely off guard 🤣

Tallywags

I'm definitely looking forward to doing more!

Tallywags

This might be a hot take, but I think this is the greatest wrestlemania main event of all time. Such an awesome match, and it's no surprise that Brock and Roman were booked in so many rematches, they never quite captured the magic of this match again though. I think that they could have crowned Roman here and he would have gotten over as a babyface just based on this match, but they decided to do the cash in instead, it kinda brings the match down a bit for me.

Dagur Hall

That cash in really caught me off guard 😂

Tallywags

Also just an FYI since it is the 4th most voted match and I'm assuming you haven't recorded it yet, but the Roman vs Edge vs Daniel Bryan match took place April 2021, so Covid restrictions were still going strong. That means that the stadium was only a quarter full, about 20k people in an 75k+ capacity stadium.

Oscar Islas

Definitely right about Roman and Seth being intertwined. Most of it is pre-Tribal Chief Roman, but still I'd say they are each other's biggest rivals overall.

Oscar Islas

Priceless reaction btw 😂🩷

TheBlueOne

I wrote it once, but it was fantastic how weak Seth Rollins was booked in kayfabe after betraying The Shield. He was literally not capable of winning anything, but in the end he always got the job done one way or another. Phenomenal heel run by Seth! It’s definitely my favorite Seth’s era 😁

TheBlueOne

Oh i have definitely heard it before and knew about it. I was specifically just talking about the exact phrasing "suplex city bitch" lol

Dport

You were right about one thing. Suplex City became a thing, and was referred to often. Surprised you haven’t heard it before!

Big Ell

The blue contacts always rubbed me the wrong way. Another way Vince was trying to mold Roman into his idea of what a face of the company should look like. I'm glad they're gone lol. Brock was the heel in this, definitely one of those part timers who would never be around. Back then there was no brand split if I remember right, and that was the only title, so everyone was tired of it. Yet, everyone was so tired of being force fed Roman as the future, everyone was happy Brock was kicking his ass lol. This was a Mania w a truly awful build that nobody had hopes for, yet turned out to be a super fun show, this being the icing on the cake. Was also indeed the year everyone booed him out of the building after winning the rumble. Truly crazy to see how the tide turned for Roman.

Nate Cruz

With Brock taking his gloves off, if you really want to see something about that🤣 you should see his match against Randy Orton in SummerSlam also Tally should totally be in more of these lol

WWE Jay Gaming

Roman keeping the Shield gear and theme song and not going through any type of real character change (and arguably being dumbed down) really rubbed people the wrong way at the time, especially since Rollins and Ambrose had completely become their own characters and went through heavy character development. They basically paused his character arc from 2015 to 2021 for no reason.

RF

Genuinely the match that made me Believe in Roman Hated his ass at the time but my god this is when I realized that just because Vince chose him for his size didn't mean anything because he was also a fantastic wrestler to back it up(not that Vince cared about that part)

Paul Watson

I don’t think I’ve watched this since it happened. Tally’s reaction to the cash in was fucking priceless.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

No joke when i saw this Mania Live on the Network at the time i thought cashing in MITB during a match wasn’t legal🤣 thats how historic that cash in was
