Miz and Daniel Bryan on Talking Smack

Miz wasn't Danielson's biggest rival. They are living in completely different worlds. If anyone... probably Samoa Joe or Nigel McGuiness were/are his biggest rivals, from ROH days to the now.

2024-09-10 18:52:48 +0000 UTCThis is the promo that lifted The Miz into star status. It's the promo that turned him into a future Hall of famer. After this promo, people began to realize the talent The Miz possessed and The Miz became a legit main eventer practically overnight and helped re-establish the ic title in the late 2010s and became a major main event player from 2016-2021.

2024-07-22 01:01:56 +0000 UTCIt was title vs if Bryan lost he’d have to leave Smackdown. They didn’t say career because I assume they were hopeful he’d re-sign and if he did, they could just put him on Raw. Obviously he didn’t

2024-07-22 00:57:35 +0000 UTCThey definitely had a bumpy love/hate relationship throughout the years.
Chad
2024-07-22 00:55:51 +0000 UTCIt was a title vs. career match against Roman Reigns if I'm not mistaken and that's how Daniel left the wwe.

2024-07-22 00:54:36 +0000 UTCI loved the eco-friendly heel gimmick Daniel Bryan had when he would constantly berate the fans for being unhealthy slobs. That was generally great heel work from him.

2024-07-22 00:50:28 +0000 UTCAgreed but the 1st “season” of nxt. The Best thing about that was the feud between them. No question. Back to back weeks they had great segments. Obviously before the nexus debut

2024-07-21 02:43:09 +0000 UTCThat era of Cole was just unbearable. Especially the Daniel Bryan stuff since it was clearly just Vince forcing Cole to express Vince's thoughts on Bryan.

2024-07-21 02:38:02 +0000 UTCAnother promo you should react to is Daniel Bryan and Michael Cole (YES Michael Cole) from nxt 2010

2024-07-20 22:46:15 +0000 UTCThere was some genuine frustration on both sides, though Miz's was more directed at creative than Bryan. That said, Miz was Bryan's biggest rival in WWE (and probably in his entire career). When Bryan unretired, it didn't take long for them to renew their rivalry and WWE did a three part video package going over their history. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhOilNdjCffNoOHj0srDgLD8AfqL1qzCB

2024-07-20 22:00:23 +0000 UTCYeah so basically Bryan won the Intercontinental Title at Wrestlemania 31 and then had 10 more matches after that as champion. Then hurt his neck and was forced to retire. The next year (2016) they made him the GM of Smackdown. Then 3 years after his retirement he was cleared to compete again, and had his return match teaming with Shane McMahon against the heel tag team of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. After that he came back to the roster full time, feuded with The Miz because of this promo from 2 years earlier, won the WWE title from AJ Styles in November 2018, lost it to Kofi the following Mania in April, won the tag titles with Erick Rowan (Rambling Rabbit from the Wyatt Sicks) shortly after that, stuck around for two more years until he challenged Roman Reigns to a universal title match with the stipulation that if he lost he'd leave the company. He lost and debuted in AEW a few months later. Also, this promo, while it was planned between Bryan and Miz, they didn't tell anyone they were gonna do it. Their idea was that if they built a feud between themselves on their own, that if the fans got invested enough it would give Vince no choice but to clear Bryan to compete so they could have the feud lead to an actual match, but the WWE doctors were refusing to clear him for some reason. (The running theory is that Vince didn't like that Bryan was more popular than Roman Reigns, which, while true that he didn't like that, I don't know if he'd go as far as to convince the doctors to pretend he had a career ending neck injury because of it)

2024-07-20 21:58:19 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite promos, and it's what cemented The Miz's place as one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. The best works have some shoot mixed in and I completely believe that Miz is speaking from the heart here. His run with the IC title really did elevate the belt, and I can't wait until we get more of him on the mic again.

2024-07-20 21:41:22 +0000 UTCSomeone can correct me if I'm wrong but i believe this was planned but they didn't tell anyone including Vince. So everyone elses reaction was 100% genuine that's why Renee made the comment about this not being the show for that kind of thing. She thought they where actually getting into it because well it was over dramatized and taken to another level for tv Daniel and The Miz genuinely felt that way about each other

2024-07-20 21:25:35 +0000 UTCAfter the WM 30 match you watched, Daniel Bryan had a rough period with injuries. He only held the wwe title for about a month and had to vacate it due to a neck injury. He came back near WM 31 and won the IC title but also had to vacate that after a few weeks due to a concussion. Due to him having many concussions by that point, he was forced to officially retire a year later in 2016. WWE wouldn’t clear him. He then was the gm for the next few years but he did eventually return in 2018 at WM 34. He even had a feud Miz later that year about this promo and their long history. He didn’t leave for AEW until fall of 2021. His last WWE match was against Roman Reigns during the recent long title reign he had

2024-07-20 21:25:29 +0000 UTCBryan was forced to retire and became GM. all doctors, after a while said he could wrestle again, all excect the WWE doctor. So bryan wanted to leave, his love for the sport it INSANE! So, since he wanted to leave, suddenly he could be cleared by WWE. So he came back, did decent heel and face work and finally left for AEW in 2021 and is now on a retirement year where by the end of 2024 he will go from full time to part time.

2024-07-20 21:21:35 +0000 UTCDaniel Bryan joined AEW in 2021, don’t think this promo had anything to do it with, could be wrong though you never know. And yeah Daniel Bryan had been medically forced to “retire” but came back to wrestle in 2018.

2024-07-20 21:16:25 +0000 UTCThis is around 5-6 months after Daniel Bryan was forced to retire due to concussions. From 2016 to 2018 he was a backstage personality until he miraculously one day was cleared and able to return. It says a lot that the guy was able to come back from retirement and go on another great WWE title run and still put on incredible matches all the way into 2024.
