“Undertaker at WrestleMania is a match type”. Just think, there’s 25 more of those that you haven’t seen yet! He had 27 Mania matches and he MISSED WrestleMania 10 and 16 due to injuries.

Man. Hard to watch some of these old Mike Chioda matches because he yells NOW before every close kickout. Not sure why nobody ever told him to knock it off. Anyway, I was at this one, my first WM! Fun match and this was probably the match of the show by far.

Big Ell

The word Color in the name was a clue. :p But yeah check out some other songs and it becomes apparent due to the subject matter.

I wasn’t a fan of them using Paul Bearer’s real life death back then and I’m still not now. This was also the match where I found out the members of Living Colour were African Americans. I just assumed they were Caucasian.

Watch the CM Punk documentary on peacock "Best in the World". It shows Paul Heymans relationship with CM Punk when he first came to WWE. Paul Heyman was the one support Punk had while everyone else didnt see much in Punk

Tk Banks

I hope so because I'm pretty sure he's been doing that at least since he came to ECW in 2006. I don't remember if he did it before that.

Zakk219

And his final on screen appearance was in 2012 when Randy Orton put him in a freezer, Kane got him out but then put him back in to prove a point.

Was the guy talking about Cm punk saying it's clobbering time on the way to the ring being sarcastic maybe? Because he does that before almost every match

"That felt earned" OK bro lmao 🤣

I am from Chicago so I can't hate Punk lol, but that Hardy feud was so peak, I get it tho he was a great heel there lol

Des

That Jeff Hardy feud made me absolutely despise CM punk as a kid lol. And when punk came out in hardys face paint the week after hardy left WWE for TNA 😤😤

The_1KQ

A lot of Cm punks initial problems with WWE stemmed from this very ppv, many including punk praised this as being the best match on the card that night and Punk took offense to the fact that despite this he never got to main event mania or be perceived as a top guy from management.

The_1KQ

Oh yeah thank you. That return was 🔥🔥him coming out of the casket 💯🔥👍

Phillyman!!

He also popped up for undertaker and Kane’s feud in 2010

David

Paul bearer was with the undertaker from 1990-1996 then 1998-99. Then few months in 2004. 1997 he managed Kane

Phillyman!!

Heck ya! Glad you enjoyed it!! Crazy that this is Punks latest WrestleMania. Brings back so many great memories!!!

As for Punk and Heyman partnership, it wasn't because Punk needed help on the mic, it was largely a Vince idea, to keep Heyman around when Brock was away, and they loved the idea because they were best friends basically, and that was there dynamic on screen, Paul Heyman has a good interview going over it all, I think from Behind the Ropes if not mistaken. Either way, it was stemed from the Pipebomb, when he said he was a "Heyman guy". Heyman was always pushing for Punk early on, he was building WWECW around him and everything. So when Paul and Brock returned in 2012 that line tho basically made Vince think how good a pair those two would make onscreen, and Heyman even tho originally just wanted to be with Brock, instantly said yes to this idea. And it was great before Roman he was prob the second best Heyman guy (which is a term Punk popularized also) now he is number 3 really, because Brock and Roman are just that iconic, but like Punk is up there with those 2 still, and you can maybe argue for Punk over Roman since you can see how much fun they had but like, it is a hard sell

YESS so happy this was a tally tier suggestion i was mad when it didn’t win one of the other polls 😭 punk’s entrance this match is one of my favorites ever

Dre Mercy

CM Punk is apart of some legendary builds as you see with Drew, also up there is with Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio (outside of MJF and Cena which you saw the big matches for those already) Also for this match specifically a quote that is tossed around by others "CM Punk was ready to beat Undertaker, Phil Brooks wasn't", like if Punk won here it would have made sense to a lot of the audience.
