Hello everyone! Hope you are doing well and doing good in the world. If not, that's ok too, take all the time you need.
For this bi-weekly update, I have some good news, and some bad news. Let's start with the bad ones shall we?
Ok so first of all, the major reason for the delays on Draconic Date is that I was teaching a lot fucking lot more than I thought I would. Because of covid, all of my colleagues went down, so that took a lot of time for their recovery and thus the remaining teachers had to teach ALL the classes. That did that the artwork and animation for Draconic Date was less supervised than it should have been. It's not bad in any way, but it's... rough around the edges... (What do you want, I'm used to working with the best animator around (hello too Filipe, you're awesome too!) and professionals voice actors.) The second thing is that I didn't take the time to import the artwork into gamemaker and as you can see above... the results are disastrous. (the first pic is the original pic, the 2nd one is the layered pic for the animation in Gamemaker)
I learned that Gamemaker 2 does interpolation way fucking worse than Gamemaker 1. The grey lines you see are transparent layers for the animation. But Gamemaker doesn't do interpolation right, it doesn't make the layer transparent, it makes them grey. It's like that everywhere and the only way to fix it would be to retouch all the original pics, and redo part of the animations and well... ain't nobody got time for that! We have pixel hentai to make!
So what does it do for Draconic Date: It will continue it's way to you, just without the animations in game. You will still have the animations separately, but as I said, they are rough around the edges. It's nice to makes these mistakes here before we make them in MWA2 or New Moon. That was kinda the goal of Draconic Date to be honest.
In the good news department: Hellhound! Her animation x male is almost done as you can see above. That and the first scenes of Draconic Date will be on your doorstep before the next weekly update.
Enjoy, and stay awesome!
