New in v2.03:
- Fixed an issue where the manual patch day scanner would not work unless you triggered an exception first.
- Fixed "fallback" scanner not always finishing the report. This is the scanner that runs when the household fails to load entirely.
I do heavily recommend watching the video above if you're unfamiliar with BE or are confused about the new Patch Day feature.
β Install instructions have changed from my previous downloads! β
- Refined Broken Script Messages: If a script is newer than the python version upgrade date, but still using incorrect python formats, the message will now be an informational "Mod Author needs to update to .pyc standard" instead of the technically incorrect advice to remove the mod.
- Better detection of Animation Errors: When the exception is caused by an animation error, it's usually ignorable and there's no advantage to scanning and generating a BE Report. Instead you'll get a notification that gives you the option to scan if you'd like.
- Scanning Dialog Can Now Be Closed: If players had unlucky timing, they could end up causing the scan dialog to get stuck on screen. For this reason, I've added a close button. It should be noted that if BE is actually still scanning and not frozen, closing this dialog will not stop the scan and your game may appear sluggish until it's complete.
- Help & Resources Updated: The General Exception link has been updated to go to Sims After Dark, where many of them same bots and helpers you're used to can now be found.

Installation:
The mod is now inside a zip. On Mac it may automatically be removed from the .zip when downloaded.
To install, open the zip below and drag the tmex-BetterExceptions.ts4script below to your Mods folder.
Do not open or unzip the .ts4script file.

2023-10-31 18:23:17 +0000 UTCHello, I keep getting an error for outfit_tracker every time I want my sims to go to work (resulting in them staying at home and refusing to go) and when I click 'try on outfits' in the mirror. It has never happened before updating my game for the Horse Ranch EP and now I can't play normally. Any idea what might've caused it? EDIT: The reason is stated as following: Exception in Sim Timeline: Exception running Element (AttributeError: 'Species' object has no attribute 'asm_key') EDIT 2: Managed to fix by deleting the following mods: fashion authority, thrift store dress normal, no outfit changing and all KS mods. i dont know which one specifically was the issue but if someone is having the same problem that might fix it!

2021-08-04 06:55:39 +0000 UTCThat file shouldn't be in your mods folder. If something is locking it, restart your pc and try deleting it before doing anything else.

2021-07-24 11:27:24 +0000 UTCUI mods don't throw regular exceptions so BE won't trigger. If you go to help and resources on your BE report there's discord servers than can help you figure it out.

2021-07-23 19:46:45 +0000 UTCWe can help more in my discord server if you need to, but the options should be in your BE welcome notification. In general you should never need to scan manually. It happens automatically when your game encounters an exception.

2021-07-16 23:16:38 +0000 UTCThe only way to know if a mod is incompatible is that it will throw an error. The Patch Day Scanner in BE is much more critical and will list any and all mods with tuning that doesn't match the current game version. That's about as close as an incompatible scan as you can get, but it doesn't guarantee the mod won't work at all.
