Sneak Peek: Stillstone
Added 2018-12-17 00:49:30 +0000 UTCHey guys!
At the moment, in our fortnightly D&D sessions for Patrons, we're exploring Stillstone, the mysterious stronghold of the Silent Order. I drew up some maps for the game, and I thought it would be a great opportunity to share them with you guys, and tell you a little bit about the place. Stillstone will be released in a future Quest Pack.
What is Stillstone?

An imposing square block of a building, on the southeastern slopes of Dryfoot Hill. It has no windows on the sides, just sheer, stone walls. It has two entrances - one on street level, at the north side of the building, and one on the roof, with a bridge that connects it to Hilltop Hold. It is enchanted to prevent any sounds from leaving the building, as well as stopping sounds from the outside from getting in. Stillstone might as well be on a different plane, completely disconnected from the outside world. For its inhabitants, their only window to the outside world is the glass roof of the tranquility garden.
The Silent Order has been capturing sorcerers from all over the Soddenweald and locking them away in Stillstone. There, their powers are closely monitored. Those who can learn to keep their chaotic magic at bay are kept on the ground floor. The building has a magical security system of runes built into the stone floor, that are primed to release various defensive spells at intruders. Adventurers entering the place have to find their way through these runes, as they might not be welcome.

In our story, something has gone terribly wrong at Stillstone, causing wild magic to run rampant, and all manner of disastrous and unbelievable phenomena to manifest. Players and dungeon masters will have to think on their feet as these unpredictable events can happen at any moment!
This "dungeon" will be a very different experience for you and your group depending on which friends you've made. Are you there to save a friend from the clutches of the order, or are you helping the order to subdue their out-of-control patients? Or maybe you just take advantage of the chaos to raid Albus Hush' private stash of magical artefacts...

If you enjoyed this preview, please let us know - we'd like to share more campaign notes like this on distant quest packs if you do!
Cheers,
- Niels & Rose
