We're here to give you a taste of what's coming next; the third and final in the "Underneath Dryfoot" series! QP#9 will cover the players' journey into the final chamber, called the "Heart of Amber". In it, they will find the coveted Tear of Hemel, encased in a crystal obelisk.
This is an early sketch of the Heart of Amber battle map. It will be the biggest map we've done so far. There are many ways to reach it from the Smuggler's Tunnels, and one of our primary goals with this design is to make approaching the chamber an interesting and eventful experience, regardless of your angle of approach!
The Quest Pack will introduce some new monsters as well! Guarding the Amber Obelisk is the Crystal Protector, a Purification Golem taken over and changed by slimes.
Stalking the deep tunnels leading to the Heart of Amber is the terrifying Slobberoth, a creature that normally feeds on the many slimes in the area, but will be more than happy to make an exception for any tasty adventurers it might encounter.
The Quest Pack will also delve into the ancient history of the Soddenweald! We will talk about who Hemel and Tor are, how they're related, and how the actions of their followers shaped the culture of Dryfoot Hill as it is today.
The story of the Tear of Hemel reaches its final chapter in Quest Pack #9, but the story of The Forgotten God is only just beginning...
