Yoyogi Area previews

There's been more progress made on the Yoyogi area, which will connect Shibuya Crossing/Station with Yoyogi PA at the Shinjuku route. It was mentioned here quite a while ago, you can even see it on the track outline and it was sort of drivable if you knew how to get around the invisible walls but now its being worked on at full speed. Here are some previews around the NHK Broadcasting Center. Obviously there are tons of details missing and most of the buildings are placeholders but the road itself is 90% done.

This is just before the Yoyogi Park intersection (you can see it on the top right).

With the help of SRP developer Simskii who showed me some new techniques, I really tried to outdo myself with this area and I think it shows in the way geometry blends together. The road lines transition smoothly from one style to another and road UVs flow from one road to the next much better than what I managed in Shibuya Crossing.

I'm spending a lot of time in this segment and it has been very refreshing to do compared to the tedious work on Hakozaki PA, which as a result, is not yet done. Sorry! But honestly, that PA made me question if I wanted to continue working on SRP so switching to Yoyogi for a breath of fresh air was a great choice. I hope this gives me the willpower to continue with the PA, which is nearing its final steps, mostly tweaking the materials and replacing some high-poly meshes. I'll share more on that when it progresses.

Finally here is an image that might help you understand the pieces of SRP that the new connection bridges together. After this connection is open, looping these two areas will be possible without having to go down the same way you came.
