Progress report, upcoming PTB and help wanted.

Hello everyone. Once again thank you for sticking with us through this period of no update releases. The next one is very close.
As described last time, in terms of new areas to drive, there's the Yaesu Route and the Shibuya - Shinjuku connection. These two areas are in different levels of completion so lets talk about them one by one.
Yaesu Route
- Yaesu now is completed in its entirety and you can drive the whole thing. The tunnel that connects it to the north side of C1 has been added.
- 80% of what the player can interact with has been added. (road, markings, barriers, lights and other roadside objects). This means that Yaesu, as a track section, is usable.
- It is currently missing any custom scenery around it, meaning that only generic buildings are next to it. Also missing is stuff like accurate lighting, signs and some toll booths.
- There are some holes in and around the tunnel that need to be covered with scenery. Be careful not to fall off the track please.


Shibuya - Shinjuku Connection (Yoyogi)
From now on we will be refering to this area as "Yoyogi" for convenience and because it also includes part of Yoyogi park as well as various roads that connect Shibuya Station to the entrance/exit of Route 5 near Yoyogi PA.
- Yoyogi has most of the roads modelled and is drivable.
- It is missing most of the essential features that players can interact with. There are no barriers so players can easily fall off the edge. There are places without sidewalks, road markings or streetlights.

For these reasons, Yoyogi will be included in the PTB but it will not be easily accessible. If you'd like to explore that area (even though there is not much to see), you may do so by sneaking past Mariko, who appears to have fallen asleep. I am sure she will not mind if you were to squeeze through the pillar next to her…

But please understand that this entire area is work in progress so there's no reason to report any bugs with it. Be careful not to fall off the track please.
Anything else?
Nothing else you can drive to but load of smaller things through the map.
3D Trees
- 3D trees have been added (only C1/Loop, Yokohane and Shibuya/Shinjuku for now).
- We have still not sourced an accurate collection of trees to fit Japan but we will do so eventually.
- Some FPS drops are to be expected when switching to 3D trees. Please let us know of the areas you are experiencing lower FPS through our PTB Bug Reports in Discord.

Scenery Improvements
Along with 3D trees, other visual changes have been made to make the scenery a little better to look at, however they are limited to the C1 area for now. These include:
- Adding more details such as containers, lights and trucks to Shibaura Docks and other docks. More is planned for later such as ships and cranes.
- Rainbow Bridge is rainbow colored again. This time the towers have proper emissive textures and can be seen from a large distance. The support structures at the ends of the bridge have been remapped and lit up with emissive textures as well.
- More lights have been added to non-drivable roads to make the city look more alive at night.
- Other little details such as parks were lit and improved to fill in blank or uninteresting areas. As always, based on what existed there IRL in 2007.
- Tunnels in C1 should now not leak any light through seams, even during the daytime. This fix is slowly being applied to all the tunnels through the map but its C1 only for now.
- Ferris wheel in Odaiba is now animated.

Performance
We've done a lot to squeeze more performance out of SRP. The biggest change is the restructuring of the Bayshore and Yokohane areas to be loaded in chunks, which in turn are managed by CSP's improved culling method. We have also made use of occluders.
Both of these methods will unload objects from the scene tree and as a result clear up any VRAM and CPU being taken up by them. We have noticed a considerable reduction of VRAM usage around the C1 area.
Known Issues
- Tree species and size do not correspond to IRL flora. Will be improved as we get more tree models. Some trees might clip roads.
- Trees might appear too transparent CSP versions before 0.2.0. So as always please use the latest CSP for the 3D trees to function properly. Some trees might have incorrect shading because of their position relative to the terrain. This will be corrected when we get more tree models.
- C1/Loop is split into two kn5s in this version as well. We expect to fix this in the near future.
- The Yaesu and Yoyogi areas are still WIP and is missing details. Those will be added in subsequent releases. You do not have to report missing objects on the Yaesu route as bugs. Feel free to report anything that impacts gameplay though (holes, weird collision, etc).
Where is Daikoku?
There has been some work done to it, mainly some decoration and some more roads but we put it aside for now to finish Yaesu and Yoyogi since those are already quite further ahead in the development cycle. We'll pick it up again asap!
Help Wanted
While the track-creating part of the project is at a healthy state, we are looking to replace or upgrade our car lineup. As such we are looking for:
- Car physics creator(s)
- Car sound creator(s)
