I just received the baseball today. Super stoked. My good friend is an astrophysicist and lives in Huntsville. He has sent me Trash Panda sweatshirts. The baseball is awesome! Love your videos and I'm happy to support Smarter Every Day!

Don't stress on making me happy, I support the science you try to teach this generation. Not for extra content or perks. Thats just my reasoning behind it. I've never been a pateron for any other channel or really plan to be at this moment.

In the second and third video showing the tree tops: If you watch the clusters that do not shake free, those branches do not seem to oscillate. It seems like the shaking/oscillation is 'filtered' out because I assume based on how the tree grew. I would be curious if revving up and down the RPMs on the tractor to change the frequency of vibration could 'free' more nuts. Also is there a secondary benefit to leaving pecans on the tree?

Just FYI.... I have seen cherries and plums harvested in much the same way here in Oregon. Special methods are devised (stretched tarps) to catch the fruit as it fall in an effort to reduce bruising.

Follow Up comment. That's some wild footage that makes me wonder if there's an optimal frequency for shaking trees; and if that frequency is relative to the trunk diameter.

Thanks so much for this Destin, I am looking forward to checking it all out when the link is working. I was really really hoping to get to see some sexy SlowMo action of the rotary cracker in action! I am assuming you have a perfectly valid reason for not capturing this, but it would have been totally awesome to see (partly because it would have been great to see your reaction to it). I love all the things you've done since the first ones I found. When I "joined" several years ago, you were mentioning earning funds to put aside for your kids' college(s). So I hope, as a former science teacher, that those funds are still building up. Keep up the good work.
