Here's a bonus scene from our Dwarf Fortress filming. It didn't really have a place in the series but I thought it would be fun to get Tarn to have a go of his game on Steam Deck. A nice little moment I didn't want to be lost to time.

I think it 's particularly funny because Dwarf Fortress seems like a crazy game to try and play on Steam Deck, but it's pretty remarkable how decent it works on Valve's handheld considering.

Thanks! This was fun to watch. It ended up being a good prompt for other non-Deck related topics too which I enjoyed digging into. (E.g. that is the very guitar I have listened to for hundreds of hours!)

2025-04-17 19:08:21 +0000 UTCI've recently rediscovered the joy of gaming, now on the other side of some of the truly yucky drudgery of playing from a sense of obligation, and to what do I owe that privilege? Couch co-op Castle Crashers with my two young sons. We're unashamedly in our button-mashing era. This documentary touched my heart as it presented that special relationship that two brothers can have, which is something that I want to nurture and protect in my own children, who were not conceived by spore. (If you, by happenstance, were spore-born, you are no less a friend of mine!) The Adams brothers have achieved truly legendary status in the artform. Videos like yours, games like theirs, and people like Tarn, Zach, Danny, and the DF community really remind me what it's all about. After all, I'm prone to forget. Aren't we all?
