Telltale: The Human Stories Behind The Games

WATCH & SHARE!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-2nNksMBpg

Hey Patrons,

We've been working on this one in some way or another for basically all of 2019 so it's wonderful to finally share the fruits of our labor. Our story on the working experience at Telltale Games dives into the culture of creativity at the studio, the crunch, creative victories, management failures and how the closure affected so many people so deeply.

A massive thanks to Caroline, Emily, Paul & Kent for talking to us about their experiences, and to my old colleague Scott Butterworth for helping me get people on board and gain a deeper understanding of the story from their perspective.

Thank you for helping us make stories like this. Your support made this happen, and we can't thank you enough.

Danny

This story got to me. It’s all fun and game, literally, until you hear how these people were impacted. Thank you for telling their story!

This was such an interesting look!! I expected it to be all bad, and I was shocked at the amount of good things the people had to say about their time working with Telltale. It’s a massive shame that so many people were out of work like that, but it was interesting to hear how proud they were of their work, and of their friends. Thanks Danny!

I'm stopping watching this for a moment because of... WHAT? It's MANDATORY to have health insurance to go to med school!? What? Why is that?? At a glance, it seems like OF COURSE! Health insurance is a good thing. We can't have people in med school who aren't insured. But as a 40 year old man who's been to a doctor twice in his life, and the first being from falling down in second grade and not needing stitches, and the second for the military (mandatory check up) when I enlisted but never got stationed at 18, health insurance is fine, but not a MANDATORY thing for a normal life. It IS, apparently, a MANDATORY thing for a "medical life". A medically insured life. A system that systemically over charges for health care. Again, health care is a GOOD thing. But a MANDATORY thing?? I'm a fan of Obamacare, and was more or less fine with being slightly taxed for not having health care, but MANDATORY?? Seems more like the medical industry wanted to insure that people felt they couldn't live a normal life without medical insurance. Seems a lot like how corporate america generally feels it's MANDATORY that new executives have a college degree for what often seems like for no other reason than to justify their having spent so much (and probably still owe) on their own college education. Because college makes you so smart. Every college grad I know is so brilliant. Maybe don't make medical insurance mandatory for med school students, but rather PROVIDE medical insurance for every med school student. I'm sure they're already paying through the nose as it is.

A handful of tweaks to audio and thirds, but nothing in terms of the story. Thanks so much for your feedback!
