Noclip Podcast #03 - The Dunes of Arabistan

 [EARLY PATRON VERSION - Enjoy!]

Hey Patrons,

The third episode of Noclip podcast is now available for your early access pleasure.

In this episode we talk to indie developer Rami Ismail about the representation of Arabs and Islamic culture in video games and discuss the steps developers can take to buck the stereotypes.

Once this episode is live we're going to change the format to a less scripted, more regular podcast with loads of special guests from around the industry. These edited podcasts will be highlighted as "Story" episodes and we'll still do them from time to time. In fact I'm half way through editing our episode with Jeff Gerstmann about his career and marking ten years with Giant Bomb. As for the regular episodes - well we have some pretty amazing guests lined up already. It's all going on this feed so don't worry you don't have to do anything.

You can listen via the player above or by plugging your custom RSS feed into the podcast player of your choice. Your custom RSS feed should be featured on the right side of the Noclip Patreon overview page. If you have trouble finding it use the link below;

I hope you enjoy the episode!

Loved it!

In regards to his reference to Advanced Warfare I believe he meant Black Ops 3? And I don't remember the Egyptian Army betraying you however I didn't play AW and it's been since release since I've played BO3. His overall point still stands but I just have a few doubts of his example is all but I would believe they did something similar in both games or that there's a dozen other examples of this in general. Great podcast. Thanks Danny and Rami!

Looooove the podcasts. I think having the more unscipted ones being the most regular but also have the now-and-again scripted story casts sounds like a good move.

Rami Ismail’s the man. Love that dude. I’m not much of a podcast guy anymore, but I may just haveto give this one a listen.

Thank you for this. As someone with similar ethnicity as Rami it's nice to hear from someone that i can relate to. Sometimes this industry feels really distant and the reactions he gets on twitter is baffling to me. Great stuff!
