December Patron Show!

YOUTUBE LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLba5HLhY1I

Alright folks. It's been a long month. I'm basically writing this right before taking a break for the first time since September so apologies for the short post!

In this month's Patron show I recap a pretty wonderful year for Noclip, talk about some future ideas and answer a boatload of your questions.

I just want to thank you all for helping us do so much work this year, and I promise that 2019 is going to be even bigger. We have some pretty wild stuff coming down the pipeline.

Hades Deleted Scenes will be live for your folks on Monday by the way.

I hope wherever you are, you have a wonderful time next week. If not, then play some video games. No better time of year for it.

Talk soon friends,

Danny

December Patron Show!

Only just now getting around to watching this (stupid long backlog), but wanted to share: When I signed up to be a Patron, I wasn't even aware that these videos were going to be a thing. I'm VERY pleasantly surprised, as I appreciate the opportunity for Danny to be very candid to the camera, and I look forward to seeing more of these in the future.

Regarding pre-release coverage, I do find it a little insulting to be told my opinion doesnt matter. It is the only real mis-step I think NoClip has ever made. I completely agree you can cover games that aren't released, but the whole way that the 76 doc was used *as* commercial material came across as wholly inappropriate. Especially for such a flawed game that would only survive its release on the strength of its marketing. You can't exactly control who uses your docs, but maybe releasing just before the imminent release of such a large title can be dangerous. Of course I haven't worked in the industry to know the normal boundaries of this stuff (e.g. for a reviewer) anywhere near as well as noclip, but I've still been a consumer and follower of the indusstry my entire life Anyway, keep doing what you do. It means a lot to me

I also spent this year digging through RLM's backlog. I both love and hate those guys. Their fan base is very annoying but they themselves are super entertaining. BOTW even inspired me to make my own monthly movie night. 2 of my favorite BOTW moments were "Dick the birthday boy" and the re-appearance of someone later in that episode. Second moment was the "piss tub" which is both disturbing and hilarious and completely NSFW despite that's where I was when I watched it... Whoops!

Heh, I bought Hades after watching E01 :) To your point on ads - I say stick them onto the video after 3-6months? Set a reminder every time a doc goes live and activate it. Provably will give you a few hundreds bucks (at least) every month to reinvest. Could be a way to finance a weekly podcast or some other small project of that nature. Curious to hear where (if) you guys decide to move! In summary - 2018 has been amazing! A ton of great content, amazing projects and 2.0 release. Looking forward to whatever lies ahead. Thank you for your hard work, thank you to Jeremy and Esteban. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and enjoy the vacation! PS go watch Into the Spider-verse - that’s how I started my vacation. 1030am showing. Me and three other people for the entire auditorium! The movie was amazing!

Yep, I am one of those people who bought Doom after watching your doc :)

happy holidays Danny!

Hay Danni, just so you know I've come across a channel that is reuploading all your stuff but dubbed in I think Russian. I don't know if you already know and are cool with it but I'm aware of other channels that have had similar things happen to them so I thought you should know. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx02EI6ZIgxyg2MgdE_HM-g/videos
