Our Half-Life doc is now available to watch. My sincere thanks to all of you for funding this crazy project. It's been a dream to work on and I'm incredibly proud of what we've put together.
Enjoy the show :)

Great documentary, thank you for your effort! Finally got time to watch it during holiday break and really enjoy it. But I just can’t forgive Valve they never finished the story. In my eyes it is a betrayal of their fans and themselves. I hope their beloved Steam will die over time due to their greediness and pressure of other platforms on the rise. I know it will probably never happen but with every year the hatred towards Valve and G. Newell in me rises and rises.

2018-12-16 17:27:21 +0000 UTCDanny, this doc came out to be everything I expected and more. And I didn’t expect it to be as thought provoking as it turned out to be. The closing point on how we, as gamers, now own the Half Life legacy is such a beautiful message. It helped me heal the last wounds that Valve inflicted...

2018-12-14 13:31:29 +0000 UTCTwo of the worst parts of Half-Life Ep 3 / HL3 are: 1) I've been through the entire cycle of grief and I've swung back to anger (I don't direct my anger anywhere, it will eventually pass) 2) The Half-Life dream: you wake up, you open Steam, it's there, Valve shadow-dropped it, you buy and install it, somehow you can start playing it, even though it's still downloading, it's looks good, graphical fidelity so good you'd almost think your display is a window into another world (alternatively sometimes it just looks bonkers), the combat and movement feels superb, puzzles are organic and will test you, but mostly not vex you. The game starts to tell you a satisfying conclusion to this 20 year old tale, but just as you're about to experience the end, you wake up, it's morning, there's no Half-Life, just this life and as the dream fades away you're just left with that Lambda shaped hole in your head that will never be filled. I think I'm too high.

2018-12-11 17:50:22 +0000 UTCI've been watching the Noclip videos for a few months, on and off. After watching the first 10 minutes of Unseen Consequences I felt compelled to fund the project. Why? I can no longer imagine a world without Noclip documentaries, this was my realization. It's great work, incredibly well produced content. I know how much effort these videos take, they're a massive undertaking. Excellent photography, interviews and camera work. I'm thrilled to be here!

2018-12-10 23:26:18 +0000 UTCThank you so much for this. As somebody who made their first foray into online multiplayer gaming through Team Fortress Classic, this evoked a weird mix of nostalgia and melancholy. There was always that sense that Valve were doing something truly remarkable, but hearing the very human stories surrounding that emphasizes how big an achievement the series was.
2018-12-10 22:32:09 +0000 UTCLoved the doc, watched it as soon as I saw it in my feed. Fantastic work as always and it's done what all your docs do in that it will keep me thinking about the messages which it has left! Though, i come away feeling strangely sad more than anything... I never did finish H2Episode2 because I was half way through it in the late mid 2000's and heard that it had been abandoned and didn't want to be sucked until an incomplete story. It has done more than anyone could say for our industry but what valve has become is the thing which makes me sad. On some level I hope that the halflife IP is sold, or that valve will take on a publisher role for the series one day. Ultimately i think the people in this doc were right, the ship has unfortunately sailed and sunk. I am with Geoff in that the saddest part is that value just arnt making games anymore. Halflife was special but it wasnt special for being an fps or having a certain story, it was because of the people that made it. That perfect storm of the studio culture is no longer with us and it's sad because it was seemingly killed off from what can only be concluded as monetary greed. Our industry is a business after all but sometimes it's hard to face. Such a shame.
