Hi! First of all some boring housekeeping. Apparently Patreon had trouble billing some folks so if your payment was declined please follow this link to learn how update your payment info. It doesn't seem to have affected many of my Patrons so ignore this if that's the case. Cheers!
*cough*
Okay. Let's talk about an exciting new adventure for Noclip!
As you know I am two weeks into caring for our newborn baby girl, which means poor Danny has to sit on his ass, change some nappies (diapers) and play the hell out of Bloodborne. So this seemed like the perfect time to begin an initiative I've wanted to do since we started this whole Noclip thing; collaborating with other creative people!
So, it's time to introduce you to our first collaborator...
Alanah Pearce is one of my favorite journalists in the games press. Over the past few years she has shot through the ranks at IGN, moving to their HQ in San Francisco from her native Australia. She worked in the games industry there for a number of years after graduating college with one of the rarest degrees in games journalism; journalism. Alanah knows her shit, and yes, as a fellow island-based-immigrant to America I've always had a special admiration for her work and initiative.
She recently left IGN and will be announcing her new job soon enough - it's not working full time for us sadly. But seen as she had a few weeks to spare between gigs, we asked her to join up with Noclip's Jeremy Jayne to produce a documentary of her liking.
So...let's talk about the doc!

The folks at Game Grumps run one of the most popular gaming channels on YouTube but a few years ago they decided to make a rather daring shift into games development. So what game did they decided to make? Why a visual novel about dads dating of course!
Dream Daddy came out around 12 months ago and wooed players and critics alike with its heartfelt story and positive vibes. But the story behind the game's development was far from easy going.
In our documentary on Game Grumps & Dream Daddy, Alanah looks into how a media company made the leap to games development, and the challenges and pitfalls that they encountered on the way.

The doc was filmed this week and Jeremy Jayne will be taking the lead on editing. This is one of two exciting docs being produced this month. The other, a solo venture by Esteban Martinez, will be announced once he's back from Evo next week.
I'll be helping them produce the docs by giving feedback on content and tone, but both projects are being led by their respective teams. Both will enter post-production next week, and we hope to get at least one of them out by the end of the month - though as ever, quality takes preference over speed.
I want to take a moment to thank Alanah for working with us. This was a project she produced, wrote and hosted herself during a time where I was incredibly busy with family duties. I'm looking forward to working with herself & Jeremy over the next few weeks as we enter post production.
Please do me a favor and give her a big Noclip Patron hello on her twitter feed, and let me know what you think of the project.
Cheers!
Danny
PS: Three Production Classes coming this month.
