I've been taking this week to test out a couple of my costumes I plan to wear at Dragon Con, and I thought this would be a fun one to try out in a video!
So please enjoy some prosthetic application and me slowly becoming more unhinged.

2024-07-12 06:07:14 +0000 UTCI have always been a huge Heath Ledger fan and his talent was so absolutely beyond incredible. So any time I see someone do one of his characters I always get a little chocked up that he’s gone. I remember the day he died and they announced on the radio when I was literally in the car doing behind the wheel training in high school and had to pull over and change with another student because I became so emotional. He was such a gifted and talented man and I had had the biggest crush on him from ‘10 Things I Hate About You’ and basically every movie he ever did. I feel like you really did this character justice, and that makes me happy because this was one of his biggest most well known parts right before he passed away. But this makeup really is spot on and you look great! I think the chin prosthetic is a really great piece because Heath had a really squared out jaw was one of the reasons they often wanted him for RomComs I think. But the centering of the cleft should be the tiniest bit better when you do it for real. Now, I get that I’m not someone who does this regularly or has any room to talk about this because I am not reputable in any sense when it comes to the use and or wear of these things. I am however a perfectionist and have a little OCD about things being correctly centered visually. But everything about this cosplay is spot on! It looks fantastic Rachel, I actually felt the transformation as you were doing it, it’s like something inside you that really connects with this character came out and I love seeing that. The whole point of art is to evoke something, anything, emotion, connection, dialogue, depth and ideas and you definitely had Heath Ledger’s Joker coming out of you in the way you began to talk and move and just be as the makeup was coming closer and closer to the end. Loved it! 10/10! ❤️

And yeah, Ledger's Joker was scarily believable. Nicholson's Joker was... mostly Jack. "C'mon! Let's get nuts!" (fave Batman, Keaton's a madman) Also a big Spidey fan. And man, that looks REALLY NOT like Rachel.

You did his character proud. I am glad you got a break . Even though it was so you could " work" on other things! Isn't that the way it always is? Our " day's off are so we can do laundry, go shopping for food in the house, sit down and pay bills... I guess we are all paddling in the same boat, going up stream or in circles, as long as we keep out of the rapids and in the boat . At least the majority of the time.
