A little "Get Ready With Me"!

HIIIII! I just wanted to sit down and chat with ya about what's been going on, my England trip, my MAGICAL interaction with a hummingbird, etc. All while doing my makeup and a little vintage hair brushout! okay that's it I love ya!!!

A little "Get Ready With Me"!

Comments

I’m a fiber artist, so if I’m not watching you at work, I’m knitting, crocheting or spinning yarn.

Carrie Treder

Loved this! Felt like I was sitting down to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. 🤗 Also, I can't seem to find the rollers that you used in this video. My hair is about the same length as yours in this video and I think they'd work great for me.

Heather

I’m late to this video but as an Australian, thanks for wishing me a happy fall 😁 your videos come out on a Saturday morning for me, so watching them is usually the first thing I do before getting out of bed!

Megan Langlands

Oh I’m going to have to find new curlers. But I have been trying to crochet recently, hoping to make a penguin soon

Sarah Roop-Rosales

I am working on a little witchy collection for my hobby shop!! Fun thing is, just when you posted the making of your moss corset, I was embroidering lots of french knots to a choker I'm making, haha.

Karoline Hundrup

I am stressing while finishing up planning for my wedding that’s on July 29 2023! Next month!! Ahh!!

Shelby Jacquelyn

I usually watch your videos on Friday or Saturday morning while eating breakfast, but this time it was Sunday afternoon while eating lunch and planning my couch re-upholstering project! It's a purple couch and I love it, but it looks very dark in my cave of a living room, so I'm re-upholstering the frame and arms with the OFMD Breakup Robe fabric.

Story

Making myself maternity clothes right now because maternity clothes are SO EXPENSIVE. And I’ve have mediocre success with thrifting.

Amy Short

I watch your stuff whenever i have the opportunity ‘cause you’re my favourite YouTuber. Having said that, the project I’m working on (big project and I’m scared tbh lmao) is basically remaking my dad’s favourite coat to not only fit him better but have a better lining. He wants an uppy sort of collar and stuff, and like djhdjsjd I’m excited but equally terrified LMAOO

Mel 🐱👑

Your content is so enjoyable; it's always my "chill on the couch with my dog and a cup of coffee" time of the day. And I also have a major case of short hair regret. Camaraderie. The growing out process is ahh not so fun - stay strong lol

Hannah Barham

I mostly just watch your videos with a good cup of coffee, sometimes on my three-season room/porch (I too am trying to enjoy the cooler weather before summer gets too hot), but I have a couple Stardew Valley-themed cross stitch projects to get back to this summer (it's my favorite game! I bought the patterns on Etsy). You describing wanting to find time to play the new Star Wars game is me with the new Zelda Tears of the Kingdom--I'm a college professor and I have three classes running right now (two started last week and the other one is hfway done), so time is short, but every pocket of free time I get I'm trying to use well to enjoy the summer!

Dana Plank

My daughters (14 &16) watch together on the couch like we are in the 80's and it's after dinner, but before bedtime. Sometimes with a snack...and the youngest has the job of manually clicking the "skip ad" button.

Amy Ouellette

I usually save all my YouTubin' for the weekend so I end up with these very long queues and I always save your videos until the end because they give me so much joy and energy to continue on with whatever I am going to do next. I feel like I'm also often doodling during your videos which is something I have picked up that is big time stress relief. Although, last week, I put on some of your videos to finally get me to finish my spring cleaning list so thank you for that. I'm a writer so those are often my current projects. Namely my newsletter. I'm a playwright and a poet also so there's always some of that in the works. And I have recently found myself unemployed so I'm trying to find ways to move more towards the creative in whatever I do next (pending $$ because, you know, I need them in a capitalism). My brother is getting married at the end of the month so I'm currently with my parents and I know I have a lot of crafting/decorating coming up and I'm excited about that.

Samantha Cooper

I hope you're feeling better! You asked what people do while watching your videos, and I thought you might get a kick out of my answer. I am a Content Designer for LoTRO and right now I'm placing quest objects into the game world for an upcoming release :) I just got myself a set of satin heatless curling rods. I thiiiiink I may have watched a video of you using them at one point? I'll let you know how it goes after my next wash day! Right now I've got a lot of frizz I'm battling, lol.

Shae Rossi

Those sound beautiful!

Elizabeth

Thanks for the update even though you got sick!! My current project is going on a year since I have a toddler. I’m up-cycling a keepsake display case I thrifted from Goodwill. I sanded it down and painted it. I’m painting the interior backing as a painting of a picture from my favorite beach vacation and then the keepsake shelves will hold my favorite seashells I’ve collected. It’s been a serious lesson in patience since I haven’t painted in years, but I’m enjoying seeing it evolve into something I made! Thanks for asking. 🐚💙

Elizabeth

Hi Rachel, thanks for the chat while doing your hair and make up. I am currently knitting a sweater, but I want to share that I made paper mache lanterns!! it was for a centerpiece. I work full time so, it was a labor of love to make 12 over a four day period. I used green and white tissue paper, ferns from my yard, and glue. For the event, I hung them over vases, with tea lights, flowers, and fairy lights. Soooo cute. I hope they last so I cn use them in the future for another party.

Monica Garrison

On to the 3rd day of winter here in Australia..... Cosy as hecccc!

Tess Gardner

I would love a chance to share projects with you! I wish I could attach pictures! I’m already planning for Halloween. Currently, I am making bracelets for friends and family. I am also waiting for eco bags from Retold Recycling. I have A LOT of fabric scraps and after so many cat toys, I am looking forward to sending my scraps along so they can become something new like insulation and other useful things.

Lauren

Actually figuring out how to pattern my edwardian shirtwaist, and fighting with my fabric 'cause for some reason the symetrical pattern of the broderie anglaise is NOT symetrical xD

Julie Coton

I think you should make a mini Jurassic Park Raptor 🦖

Kristine Drebes

I have been busy working on Halloween-themed Pillow Plushies with my original spooky cute artwork for my small business.🎃💜💚🧡🖤

Rocio Jimenez

I'm crocheting a Beetlejuice inspired cardigan while catching up on your Patreon videos

Grace Kelley

I’m making a milk maid dress from vintage bedsheets with a big bottom ruffle for a wedding I’m going to this weekend! It’s so dang cute, the print is strawberries 🍓

Ashley Lucero

Enjoying a break during a 13 hr work day. Your videos are always my calm little happy place. Glad you had a lovely time over here in blighty 😁

Hayley

Making some scrappy overalls currently ☺️

Nadia Meyer

Was looking at your Rita Hayworth video and was wondering if you’d ever go for a Katherine Hepburn cosplay video? I bet you’d rock that look!

Allison Guinn

Hey, just a quick question - when will the UK vlog be up here, on Patreon?

Meg Baes

literally sat here hand-sewing the binding on a new summer maxi dress. Nothing fancy, but the style I like isn't fashionable anymore so I've had to make my own as my old one is v holey.

H. Jean Garvey

Many projects! Editing Book 1 of my fictional series, about half-way through writing the second. Wanting to get back into sewing - I made some Edwardian undergarments at the beginning of the year and I can't wait to make the gown but life happens!

Tiarna Lehmann

While watching this, I have been taking breaks from working on this week's assignment for grad-school to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. I work full time and so weekends are largely dedicated to school. Thanks for the study breaks and joyful hilarity. My husband often marks our similarities in ADHD energy. Always fun to follow along.

Courtney Rae Kelly

Oh boy, so many projects! While watching this video I was painting my nails. But I have some embroidery projects in mind and I finally got wool fabric to make a cloak so I'll start that soon. I also need to finish making the TV stand for my apartment

Aliya Rucker

Always enjoy a GRWM for inspo as I hardly ever get ready to do anything fun these days. I was wondering if we, the community, wanted to adopt a term of endearment for Maksy fans (I.e. swifties). My best contribution is Maksynites but I also like the Fellowship. Thoughts??

Amy Badger

Happy autumn from Australia! I’m crocheting a beanie for my son while watching your video today. I’m also at work, supervising exams which is a very relaxing job indeed. Thankfully I can mostly crochet without looking otherwise I would have to put the hook away. Thanks for the entertainment. Love the informal chat.

Cathy Milner

My sister had a lord of the rings wedding so my last project was making an Arwin inspired maid of honor dress and also a hobbit-esk dress for my 1yr old.

Cristal Velarde

Im hand sewing an 18th century chemise by hand. My partner is recovering from surgery,so its something quiet i can do at the hospital.☺️

Emmanuelle Wambach

I'm having a cheeky watch of this at work whilst making a roadmap for the Publisher for our project - I won't tell them if you don't..

Brittany Staples

I'm releasing a handdyed yarn collection inspired by the Final Fantasy games next month and knitting/crocheting swatches of the colorways while watching! 🥰

Sailor Meatball

I'm taking a break from schoolwork to eat a popsicle and watch this video while laying back with a heating pad on my uterus.

ButterPecanRican

I have a friend whos baby girl has a large dark birthmark on her forehead so i’m custom making a crocheted doll to match :) It’s really fun making all the little outfits and including tactile learning features like bows and buttons and snaps :)

Caitlin Land

I am always crafting while watching YT! Right now I am working on a colorwork yoke sweater in delightful shades of green. 💚

Holly Terrell

Lol crafting while watching your videos is almost a requirement for me (and coffee). Currently working on a granny square seat cover because…I need a wee bit of whimsy at work 😊🧶

Erica Sara

The project I just finished was a clay frog for my grandma that has a dress and dangly legs so it can sit on a windowsill

Jaymie

maybe you could make a video/livestream on patreon or youtube playing a game to give you an excuse to play more, I would 110% watch that

Jaymie

Ha! Small world. Watching this while my car is off getting new tyres. And enjoying a crisp autumn (fall) day. Also trying to psyche myself up to finish one of the many sewing projects I have started, but keep getting distracted by tidying (which is my preferred method of procrastination 😅).

JoJo Smith

I apparently like to suffer, so I'm designing my own pattern, lol The design around the neck mimics Alina's antler collar (more so based on the book design than the show), and the back has an image of two stags looking up at the sun! I'm hoping to do one based on each book/amplifier in the trilogy :D I'd like to put the pattern up on Ravelry if it turns out alright, but that still remains to be seen... especially because I haven't worked out the sleeves yet, haha

rosebunting

Enjoyed this and can't wait to see the England vlog. I am currently crocheting an actual Fellowship item. The green cloak and making a Lorien Leaf brooch.

Corazy

Like you, I'm a little at loose ends. I just finished two big projects -- the Mrs. Maisel cocktail dress (in black linen) and a reproduction of some items from Lili St. Cyr's 1950s mail order lingerie catalogs (negligee, bra, panties, and slippers). I have no idea what I'm going to work on next!

Mina Murray

I’m working on sewing the coquelicot skirt from Wildflower designs! 18th century inspired pockets, 50’s silhouette, and a very nifty lace up/tie mechanism to make is super adjustable without elastic!

Chloe Yugawa

Oooh please tell me more about this cardigan! Is there a pattern you’re using? What makes it Shadow and Bone themed?

Chloe Yugawa

Great video, Rachel! You inspired me to hunt for a vintage flatbed knitting machine and I found one! So hopefully I’ll be able to crank out some gifts for my daughters and hubby by Christmas. I’m so glad you’re doing more vintage stuff. Hope you feel better soon. Lots of tea and soup and Frodo Cuddles are prescribed!

Roberta Biallas

I'm in a project pause with my crochet patchwork cardigan as I am waiting for some blocking pins to arrive so I can block my squares before sewing them together. I'm in Australia and yes it is Autumn here and soon to be winter (it was 2 degrees celsius last night!)

Stacey

I am planning to start a new cross stitch project!

Kelly Kleiser

I am sewing a gazillion faux gems onto a pair of sandals. 🤕

Sayanchi

I am working on my Shadow and Bone cardigan! Currently reknitting the front right panel because I accidentally used the wrong needle size.. oops!

rosebunting

I just got married this past weekend so I'm tackling my wedding album/scrapbook, which as someone who never got into scrapbooking...I am overwhelmed! So wish me luck!

cosmicpoison

I'm knitting a scarf, nothing fancy but the yarn is the prettiest green! I'm all the way in Brazil and yes it's Autumn in here

Vicky

Miss your vintage videos. Especially when you made poster recreations.

Rena Hafeez

I just watched approximately 3 hours of your old old videos while doing mindless computer stuff for work before coming home and sitting down to watch this one. Getting a lot of vintage Rachel today! ❤️

Amber Rhodes

Watching this I am crocheting a giant snakes for my kids... It's taking forever lol l love your Vlogs it's so nice to get to know you and everyone on patreon. I hope you feel better soon!

Maryviolet Evans

I love the vintage stuff again! And am super excited for the english vlog :) beautiful!

Madi VanDoren

So, I'm actually at work watching this video...shhhhh.

Dolores Sims

I am enjoying a little weekend away at the family cabin and I found a used serger for $15 at a junk store!!! My husband oiled it up and cleaned it out and now it appears to be alive!!!! Once we get home I need to get it threaded and such but looking forward to soo many new project that will go smoother with a serger 😻

Rose Reynolds

I'm also working on a crochet baby blanket! Not for me, but for a friend who's also due in august <3

Sarah

My project is to sew my first button up dress, I'm cutting the pattern right now <3

Mimi

Also I made a Hobbit door for my living room wall!!

Allison Kern

I’m going through the same hair time travel thing. I got my haircut short like I had before the Plague and feel very off because of it. Kinda just want to buzz my head and completely start over but I’m also very impatient.

Allison Kern

I'm making a crochet baby blanket for my baby due in aug

✨Sadie✨

I am working on my second set of linen sheets. I adore the first pair I made so I listened to you chat while I was pulling threads. Next week, school will be out for the year and I start costuming “Descendants” for our local theater summer camp.

Jean S.

I’d love to know what makeup you used please!

Ashley Quam

As I watch this I'm attaching a skirt to the bodice of my 16th century kirtle, and I just finished my hand-embroidered pocket. I also have a cat in my lap.

Marijean Rue

Did I go and order Cozy Curlers after watching this? Yes. Yes I did.

Virginia Norton

You could always break your England trip videos into little 10 minute chunks and schedule them out into the future to run on off weeks. Then stick them all in a playlist once they're all posted. Little nuggets of fun.

Adam Eakins

I also am sick with not-plague and I don't have the energy to set up my brand new sewing machine that just arrived to replace the one that broke mid-project. Ugh! Oh well. For now I'm just completing some silly little crochet amigurumi - a bat and a grim reaper :D

YarrowVVitch

If you are ever interested in doing any nautical themed projects, and want to do a reveal on a historical sailing ship, there are quite a few that might be game to serve as a backdrop. I've worked on several around the US, and my husband is one of the captains of a replica 1812 war ship and an original 1920s fishing schooner, respectively (not at the same time, there are a couple of captains). I cooked on the 1812 ship for about 5 years, on a wood stove, which is where we met. So all this is to say that if you feel at all pulled in the nautical direction, or happen upon an antique wood cooking stove, I can hook you up with info and contacts that may help you out. Have a great day!

Captain Pedantic

Knitting a second Venetian Tank by Sari Nordlund - it's in my favorite fall(ish) ochre shade and I'm planning on a cute little copper moon button to finish it off.

Rita Friendly

Glad you had a fab time when you visited us here in England! I haven't exactly started work on it yet but I have a big project in the pipeline for my Halloween display. Last year I converted a garden parasol into an abandoned haunted fairground swings ride which my homemade zombie dolls sat in. I made a small roller coaster car last minute from cardboard but the rain destroyed it, so I'm planning to not only build another little car, but also make a little bit of bumpy track using the hump-backed trellis fence toppers. I am so freaking excited about it! I'm also going to upgrade the lights on the centre of the parasol. Yes, I know it's still May but I've usually already started making Halloween stuff by now :)

Mary McIntyre

I did a very mature thing today and made a list and schedule of all the projects I've started and want to start through September. I'm really trying to make time for my projects but I struggle without that structure. Any tips would be welcome!

T M

Oooh I just had a fun video idea! I’m not sure if you are into Shadow and Bone, but I would love to see you do a closet cosplay for Shadow and Bone characters! I always enjoy those videos so much! Loving your hair lately! Have a great week!

Cate Keesling

I'm currently working on some Demon Slayer inspired earrings while I wait for the supplies for a mushroom parasol I'm making for the renaissance festival next month ☺️

Victoria Fair

Packing up all my historical costumes so I can MOVE on Thursday. Very exciting but OMG stressful. 😅

Amy

Currently working on a Lord Farquaad choker while watching your video so i couldn't be more fulfilled and cosy!

Mathilda

these chatty videos are so nice 💖 i've been enjoying your videos making little guys, so i picked up some felting stuff and armature wire, we'll see how it goes!

Porter Hiskey

Working on 3d, hard boiled egg costumes for a production of Something Rotten 🤦‍♀️ Tap dancing eggs. So very stupid and so very fun. Love being able to read what everyone else is working on!

Jules Fielding

Hi Rachel, I hope you're feeling better today. This hummingbird story is amazing 😍 It must have been wonderful.

Lucy Dreams

Blast from the past to see you doing a cute set! 😍 Currently working on a Worbla breastplate/fantsy armour/corset thingy!

Kaitlyn

I'm currently working on teaching myself how to use drop spindle and making herbarium book. And today I want to prepare soy candle for Midsummer Night 🥰

Anna Koczela

I first started watching your channel back when you did vintage content, so I've kind of missed that a bit! Also I would love to see an updated house tour if you don't have any other ideas for patreon :)

Tova Svensson

I'm currently in the process of moving across country so looking for accommodation and packing things on top of work... Sadly no crafting right now. But current projects that will resume in a few weeks include a try of a medieval kirtle following a pattern based on surviving garments and starting planning my christmas sewn presents for my mother and my partner's mother. I've been doing it for 3 year because why make things simple for yourself? I just hope this year it will not be last minute rush as usual (one can only Hope 😅)

Clémentine Marty

It is autumn in Australia rn (the superior season)!! So I'm making a very silly pair of pyjamas that looks like an 1890s shirtwaist for the coming winter

Lexie B

Just got back from Return of the King on the biggest IMAX in the province! They have been doing a LOTR movie each weekend and it is glorious. Teeny details I never caught in the million and one previous watches, which is wild! (Frodo ends the Red Book by saying proposing to Rosie was the bravest thing Sam ever did?!) Also love hearing people gasp when Shelob shows up. A+. On projects from it's all gardening and chipping away at too many Ren Faire costumes!

Victoria Flark

Hey-it’s-autumn high five haha!

Samantha Gray

I'm finishing crocheting a cardigan for my husband and making a green leaf headband for myself

Greta Katkeviciene

Heyyyyy, I'm Australian too!

The Band Wagon

I'm 4 weeks into knitting by hand the crop top you made with the knitting machine. I just sewed my current 3 panels together. I think I will need 4 more...? Maybe I'll be done in another 3 or so weeks.

The Band Wagon

I’m working on becoming the swamp witch I have always imagined. More crone every day…

Barbara Baker

I'm modifying wardrobe to fit my finely tuned aesthetic and making new things for an etsy store. I also have a box that is slowly accumulating smol things that I will be sending you soon 💚

Chloe Olivia

I've been making puppets. I made a butterfly, a old sassy frog lady, and 2 monsters. I got some more for later this year. Also, I want to make clown dolls. I'm waiting for the patterns to arrive.

Thorn Mage

I’m working on binding the guest book and vow books for my wedding that’s in three months!

Katelyn Denny

I’m putting off unpacking… lol I want to sew but I do not want to unbox all the things lol

Samantha E.

You, Nick and Frodo NEED to come to Scotland. Our dogs would have an absolute blast roaming around the countryside surrounding my village 😮‍💨

Edith

I hope you feel better soon!

Kathryn M. Norwood

Thanks from Australia! We get so little recognition for being in the opposite season haha 😁 I’m currently putting off working on a 1890s set for my interactive tour guide position taking little kids around an old school house 😅

Samantha Gray

I'm currently working on a pyrography log hobbit hole to try and start off a business doing the craftiness I enjoy!

Becky Perry

I think my next project is a linen Waistcoat. Right now I need to add some taps to my Gaitered Trousers and wool waistcoat. Also had a humming bird hover about, like usual I said "hello there".

Lord Frederick

What type of cozy curlers are those? Apologies if this has been discussed before!

Allison Akright

Sorry you came over to the UK during our plague season, I think everyone I know is ill with some sort of bug right now.

Kat Mallow

It’s always so nice to hang out with you Rachel

Sandra (Sazmotaz)

Not a dumb question! Ya I’m using fabric paints on this jacket, but I’ve also heard acrylic is good for jean jackets cause of how absorbent the fabric is. I had to get a thicker (better quality) fabric paint half way through cause the cheapo $2 fabric paint I bought originally was too thin and I had to do lots of coats. My one thing with acrylic paint is that if you do too many coats it will crack, even if you use a fabric paint medium

Rebekah Johnson

I’m currently on a knitting kind reading kick. Knitting socks and a cardigan right now, this week I had a day off cause my youngest was I’ll so consumed like 4 books. I’m desperately feeling like I need chill out weekends so that’s what I’ve been aiming for!

Ceri Simons

I'm working on my own version of Cinderella with aspects from the disney cartoon, live action, and a couple little nods to ever after :) I'm currently on the finishing stages of the corset!

Caitlin S.

I'm working on finishing some mini props for a doll customization I've been making.

Carol B

After the Everafter dress and being away I am not surprised you are needing a rest. Can't wait to see what great creation you come up with but as always it will be fun to watch.

Debra Anne Clark

Working on a 1940s dress from an original pattern, for my brother in law’s 40’s theme wedding. Currently sewing in shoulder pads

Judith Phillips

I love these cozy GRWM videos! I’m currently working on a Futurama cosplay (Leela) and a Beauty and the Beast cosplay (Lumiere). Hope everyone is having a great day!

Holly Machado

My partner and I are moving in together and will move to a new home next week. So i'm taking a break from living between boxes, watching your video <3

Jolien H

It's been a very chill week for me, with hubby on a work trip. While he's been busy during the day I've been knitting for our baby who's due in July 😊 Made a little bear and working on a blanket now. Rachel and Elementary have been good companions

Elena Joy

Did you order Hogwarts Legacy? I just finished it. I loved it.

Kelly (Nellas)

I'm watching today while waiting for the rain to pass. Then I'm off to shop for a new living room, a chest to store mattress covers and sheets, and a smallish bookcase to keep my collection of art books. Your hair sets always seem like magic to me. Whenever I've given curlers a go, my hair looks like it's having a wild party on my head. 😄

Lynnetta

Watching Rachel Maksy videos= craft time in this house! Literally if I'm stalling on a project I put on one of your videos and it's instant motivation activation! Just finished the final touches on a Jane set top from Charmed patterns while watching this! Thanks for the power up!

Kathleen Williams

How long do you leave your curlers in? I did a set last night, on dry hair with setting lotion, and left them in from about 9pm to 7:30 am, and they were…. A hot mess lol I think I didn’t let them dry long enough.

Paige Williams

I’m currently finishing up me and my friends costumes for the Taylor Swift concert! We are going ALL out

Abagael Baldwin

I'm so excited you had that hummingbird interaction!! In my 20s and 30s I had bright pink and purple hair. I used to spend time reading or listening to music in the crook of an oak tree, and the hummers would often pop by and try to "drink" my fringe. Truly the most magical experience. Now that you know they're around, maybe your new swing needs to have a hummingbird feeder nearby???

Mary Good

For forever (before you were full time youtuber) I've been watching your videos while eating my Saturday breakfast, and today is no different! It's actually a long weekend here in Canada, and my anniversary, so we're planning on biking, I'm baking a pie, gardening, and going to see that Renfield movie 😊 My boyfriend is going to do a whole chicken on the bbq!

Dominique Duguay

I had the captions on and it called then "cozy crawlers" instead of curlers. The way I choked on my tea

Bri

Hope you feel better soon! I recently had "the plague" and it knocked me out for over a week and I couldn't do any crafting or productive stuff, so totally understand how you are feeling. Now back to making earrings with handwoven fabric, and hope to do some sewing later. 💕

Flora's Fiber Farrago

Get well soon Rachel ❤️ Can’t wait to see your England trip vlog ! Ive also been under the weather (Strep throat) 😐 RN -im planting flowers and herbs in my little garden. Also I’ve been painting a lot with gouache to make some whimsical little paintings. Also we are making some change in the home and im going to have my own little craft room 😌 I have a big list of projects: -making more homemade soap and maybe get into perfuming -Install all my antique uranium glass/ depression glass in a vintage cabinet with black lights -Open an Etsy store for my little paintings and sell prints -Getting back into sewing 🪡 -make wood furniture myself (with my father in law) -Maybe repaint some rooms -Preparing my next Halloween costume … while working 40 hours a week 🥴 💪

Cynthia West

I recently got a ton of linen(gifted by my amazing boyfriend) and I REALLY want to make eowynns white dress because Loepsie over on YouTube did it and it was so cool, but I’ve been stalling lol. So right now I’m crocheting a sweater for my boyfriend. It may be around 100 degrees most days now but it won’t be in like…5-6 months so. Gotta be prepared :P love you Rachel, hope you feel better soon!!

Abby McKnight

Watching this while i am meant to be revising for my exams next week, oh well this is better lmao

Kita

im working on getting my uni work finished ive got a couple of weeks left aaaa, preparing for a presentation on monday for my life drawing work

Mara Luthien

Not a crafter, but I’ve taken up art again a bit more! Atm I’m doing my first character sheet for my first proper (and hopefully reoccurring) OC, aaaand I think I have a bit of a crush on him hahahah

LittleNayuh

My current project is a crocheted wisteria garland to add ✨whimsy✨ to my living room.

Beth

Right now me and my girlfriend are working in our Arwen and Aragorn cosplays for the Tolkien Days here in Germany and are very excited to wear the costumes for the first time!💕

Klingoni

Not *right* now, but recently I've made my first EVER clothing item with my sewing machine. It was a corset-style belt for a costume, and while I didn't get the sizing quite right I'm really chuffed that I actually made a whole clothing item myself. And it's all because of you and other costumers that I've been inspired to start learning this new skill, so thank you so much!!

Kim Wheeler

im making a cosplay of ianthe from the locked tomb saga and she is cool bc on of her arms is a golden skeleton thing,,, but she is also a pain in the ass bc one of her arms is a golden skeleton thing,, either way im doing an skeleton arm that i can atach to a glove

Angel (Cryptim)

I am in the middle of a Block of the Month quilt that my sister and I are doing together. She lives out west and I am in Pennsylvania, so we FaceTime, sometimes, while sewing. It’s the closest we can get to doing a project together 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Tricia

I'm getting ready to make 2 fairy dresses for myself and my bestie as we're going to a fairy fair in August. We're going for Wednesday and Enid thing where I'll be in blue and pink and my bestie is wearing black :) Also having a bit of an existential crisis over my work xmas party as it's black tie and I don't have a black tie level dress and I can't find a nice pattern that I like enough yet

Dana (Fragile Panda)

My video watching routine is Saturday mornings chilling with my cat Jesse ❤️ I’m currently doing a miniature model-making course with a modelmaking studio (in Ireland - hey 👋🏻🇮🇪) called Odyssey and frickin LOVING IT!! We’re only on week 2 so early days but man, it’s so good.

Aoife Fealy

I'm currently working on a 50's style jumpsuit with a matching detachable overskirt :) I already have everything cut out, but can't seem to get my a** up and acutally start with the sewing XD so fingers crossed hehe

Crimson나비

I’m getting ready for my OWN lil’ UK trip! London > Bath > York > Edinburgh > Inverness. It’ll be my longest solo trip ever and I’m definitely a little worried about getting lonely, but I have friends to see in York and Edinburgh so that should help. As for projects, I’m editing my first attempt at ASMR, procrastinating on embroidering a knitted romper for my niece and trying to get stoked to design a striped tank top inspired by one Taylor Swift wore in a music video! Oh yeah, and teaching myself nålbinding for the trip 😬

Cirilia Rose

Also can I just say, I’m SO happy (selfishly) that you now have hair exactly the length of mine, because I’m trying to figure out how to do a vintage style for my wedding in September, so this little video was like gold dust!

Esther Lay

I’m generally watching your videos while I get ready in the mornings for work — black dress (I’m a priest), little plastic collar — and doing my makeup. Or watching them to procrastinate while I write sermons!

Esther Lay

I'm currently working on a jeans-jacket I startet last summer/autumn. It's a longterm project because I was sewing rhinestones all over it. But things are starting to get together now, so i'm very exited! :)

Amy Lia

Just ordered 210(!) hedge plants(?) yesterday. Soooo, will be planting those when they arrive in 4-10 business days.

Malin

Currently embroidering mushrooms and grass onto sleeves of a dress I made for the ren faire season 🍄

Lady Gabe

I'm in the middle of creating things for my mums disney themed 70th birthday. I watched this video while sewing beads onto a bow for some mickey ears, with my hair in curlers. (Because my bob is growing out so why not try some vintage styles, non?)

Madame Clochette

OMG Rachel!!! You should totally play the new Star Wars game for a Patreon video, I think people would like that (you can make a poll just to make sure tho, haha)!

◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗EvelineSunflowrs◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗

I'm getting on with my garden ❤️ also trying to make a witches hat

Sophie Prior

Currently working on some accessible summer dresses that will make my medical treatments easier bc my current wardrobe is not cutting it!

Emma Atkins

I’ve been remodeling my room, slowly. But I have been working on a needlepoint tapestry of the map of Middle Earth…so yeah. There’s that.

Izy

Probably a dumb question but do you just use fabric paints for this?

Mary

Not doing much these days as I have a newborn so its nice to watch a cozy video like this while breastfeeding! Once the cluster feedings settles I'm hoping to get back into crafts since its been a few years

Mary

Will be making an 18th century gown for a teen to wear for a reenactment in Sept. As my dar membership course project

Katie Dunmore

I've been cleaning up our spare room so we can welcome a young friend who has recently been priced out of their rental accommodation because the world sucks for students who want to be independent at the moment! He's lovely and it will be great to have a young person in the house again! I am also doing a bunch of handsewing and knitting the never-ending snake project because the weather has suddenly turned freezing (in Melbourne, Australia)

Imelda Evans

There are never too many tea cups. I have lots of fiber crafts planned. Currently knitting a scarf/beanie set for my youngest daughter and crocheting a throw blanket for my oldest daughter and her husband. All of these are Christmas gifts.

Sara Russell

Not crafting while watching, packing! Have a trip to Singapore and Thailand coming up ✨

Jatzgrif

I had recently finished chalking a black vintage tea cabinet into white so now I am in the process of revamping my front room to be a cosy tea corner for my collection...how many teacups is too many?

Deb James

I’m working on an embroidery project for a certain pup 👀

Corey Wisler

I’ve been working on painting a jean jacket I thrifted! I’m painting the Pyromania Def Leppard album cover on the back panel (cause it’s one of my favorite albums), and it’s almost done… ya know like a month and a half later

Rebekah Johnson

I have been painting 8 by 10s for the past two weeks, having gotten back into painting. I post them on the art channels for the Discord servers I'm a part of.

Reverie Mephisto

I’m pregnant and have little motivation or energy for much, BUT I am making a baby quilt for my cousin who’s due next month. It’s super cute and I’m having fun with it!

Jennifer Harlow

I am working on a Rizzo blouse (knitting) and a falling leaves skirt (sewing + heck ton of cross-stitching) at the moment :)

Marie Minet

I’m working on a creepy cross-stitch from the Creepy Cross-Stitch book by Lindsay Swearingen

Melissa Rith

Baby #2 is arriving in August so right now I’m trying to figure out how the heck we are going to fit a second crib into my sons already tiny bedroom.

Shelby Scheer

My mom and I always have your videos on while we work on decorating cookies for our custom cookie business :)))

Elizabeth O'Meara

Finally just finished my first big project. Made a mothers day quilt for my mom. Watching your autumn/Halloween Playlist on YouTube and wanting to do fall projects now 😂😭 I've been sick for 2 weeks so right there with you, but I hope you feel better soon!

Dottie Elizabeth Vanderbilt

I just finished making a teddy for a Sally Bowles costume (and also just for feelin' saucy around the house, tbh). Next up is either a chemise for my reenactment group (what I should be doing) or a full 1840s work dress so I can cosplay as my own main character (what I probably will be doing.)

Laura Elizabeth

I've been working on leaf cloaks for my husband and I, as well as a vibrant neon corset for 80s themed jousting tournament we are going to in August. Hope you start feeling well soon!

Venita Gaynor

It's available on Steam, I highly recommend it! I also recommend joining the discord to see what bugs are being worked on and to ask questions (and chat)

Marie Buhtz

As a Melbournian it is fall, the leaves and trees are spectacular, mushrooming season is upon us however in true Melbourne fashion the weather can't decide if it wants to be winter or fall/autumn as we call it.

Jessica Lee

You got this!

Janet Daniels

I'm making an 18th century fancy gown and about to start a Star Wars cosplay for my partner.

Janet Daniels

I have been rehabbing my childhood dolls, and am currently working on the Raggedy Ann doll made for me by my beloved late mother when I was 5. Raggedy Ann has been washed mostly-clean, and the current project is hand sewing her a new dress, because the original is disintegrating. Took awhile to find fabric that was reminiscent of the original, but I found one (light blue w lil daisies and ladybugs). When Raggedy Ann is done, it will be my Cabbage Patch Kid’s turn.

Downtoinette

Lovely to watch this fairly casual video. Your videos bring me a certain level of calm, hilarity, and/or comfort when watching. I just finished a leadership academy for my work (National Park Service). It was a really rewarding experience, which feels weird to say. I have also been gradually painting our new mailbox (before install) for the last few months and am really proud of the work I've done. I haven't had a large scale creative price like this in nearly 8 years and it feels good.

Lynn Shepard

Hi Rachel! While watching this video I was finishing up my last final project for college EVER!! I graduate with dual bachelor degrees on Sunday (May 21st)!!! My degrees are in English and Theater with a concentration in costume design. Actually now that I think about it you're partly responsible for that because you really inspired me to pursue costuming! My birthday was also earlier this month (yay Tauruses!) so I got myself a nice new desk and bookshelf for my sewing setup and I'm excited to spend my first summer post-grad sewing a lot! Hope you feel better and thank you for everything you do and for being such an inspiration!

Anastasia Blanchet

So excited for your England Vlog! The Ever After dress turned out so beautifully and can't wait to see your next 'dream dress.' I haven't been crafting per-say but I'm working on developing some extra items for my shop (I opened a Canadian online bookshop last month). Would love to work on my embroidery skills and writing though when I have time again haha

Kaylee

Being home sick from work has worked out well this week! I get to play while my daughter is at school. It’s really fun and oddly relaxing, even in the scary caverns.

Emily A

Thank you from Brisbane australia where it is indeed fall but in 2 weeks it will be our sad attempt at winter which would make people that actually get winter laugh lol we don’t get snow in Queensland but hey it’s cold to us lol I hope you feel better soon!! Love you love your content hopefully you get a few more weeks of chilling in your swing sending cool breezes and love your way! ❤️❤️

Marnie townes

I’m building a pirate ship for my husband’s home brew D&D campaign. There is an alarming amount of balsa wood floating around my house at the moment.

Aloragrace

I just started a project to create the nun outfit (veil, collar, wimple, robe, and scapular) of Mother Bernadette from the Exorcist tv show. You’d think as a child reared catholic and named after a nun, I would have dressed up as a nun way before turning 54. But…here we are. I’m super excited to try and figure it all out!

Peggy Christie

I just got back from Joann with all the things I need to make a corset/bodice for a Renaissance festival costume! And also fabric for pants for my husband's costume. So that's what I'll be working on this weekend. Your videos have been hugely inspirational to me follow my crafting dreams! I hope you feel better soon and let yourself relax!

Diana Lawson

If it's fall in Australia and you visited there...you could have fall twice in one year. :)

Lisa Sauder

Me too!

Diana Lawson

It was fate 🥹

tay

The fact that it was $13 feels right for a Taylor Swift event

Laura Garcia-Cervantes

That sounds amazing!

Diana Lawson

On the topic of the passage of time, the fact that I’ve been following your videos for about ten years just made my eyes widen in shock and sight horror lol love seeing this throw back content! Also very down for videos where you’re just silently working in the garden and tidying or whatever. I love watching that long form kind of content on yt- relaxing for the viewer and it would be a great way to just get stuff done :) these are the only weeks I like being outside too so I’m trying to dig up my yard and plant whenever I get a chance 😌

Laura Garcia-Cervantes

I hope you feel better! I would give you some advice on things you could do to make yourself feel better but I'm sure you're tired of hearing those things so I will leave it at I hope you feel better. What am I working on too many things restoring a doll, making bracelets, cleaning house, cleaning out the garage, trying to make sure I get up and go to work. You know just the normal stuff.

Sirena Evans

OMG!! I loved that game when I was a kid! 🥹

Bellinha

I am changing a me-made dress into a skirt because i dont really like the top or sleeves. So i done chopped 'em off!! Now fixing the top of waist band so it doesnt look like garbage. All while trying to keep my cat from eating my pins. Anyone else's cat like eating pins????

Missyshenanigan

I think it’s Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion.

Heather Koenig

i am *finally* adding the neckline to a sweater ive been knitting and im almost done wiht some D&D pjs :) i just taught myself how to sew two months ago so every new sewing project is a struggle still haha

Beebe Doe

I'm waiting for Youtube to realize my videos are long because they're tutorials and get it together and let them upload lol It's been 2 days and it's killing me lol

Faith Long

Beth k

Welcome home!!!! I hope you feel better soon

Beth k

I'm 2 weeks out from surgery, so my crochet is on hold for now. I've recently started a diamond art print of Beauty & the Beast for my almost 9-yr-old's upcoming birthday gift.

Kim Ladouceur

Hope you feel better! Right now my project is every day my husband will give me a random prompt and a number for a color palette. I have the color cubes from Sarah Renee Clark, and I draw something in the color palette. It's been fun.

Danielle Bright

Thank you for the tip!

Katherine O’Neil

I hope you feel better soon! I am growing out my own hair, so I feel your struggle! (Mine isn't long enough for curlers yet, but once it is, I might try some curls my own self!) Craft-wise, I am spinning some yarn out of a roving that is like autumn-apple coloured and then I am going to knit myself a shawl! Slowly! Also, I can't wait to see the England vlog, but I will wait patiently because maybe some rest would be helpful in your healing?

Leigh

With vintage hair back maybe But make it vintage could be back too! I would like to make a eowyn inspired dress with thrifted courtains

Viola

Feel better, Rachel! I’m working on a baby blanket. I have two to make right now, but this first one is a bit of a rush because I procrastinated and the baby has already been born 😬

Rayna Andrews

So excited for the upcoming vlog 🤩! Love all the content you put out for us. Recently I've been working on nothing but wedding decor, since we got married on the 14th. Had a bunch of DIY florals: a wisteria arch made out of coffee filters - a good 200+ hours in that project - made our bouquets and corsages. We carved handles for our bouquets to look like sword hilts. 3D printed Link and Zelda figures for the cake topper (painted the eyes with a cat whisker which was surprisingly effective). Modge podged scenes onto clips to match our table names. Made little display signs for various info. My husband and his dad made a really cool Hylian shield display to hold my bouquet during the reception ❤ Honestly, right now I'm happy just melting into a puddle and focusing on rewiring my neurons to normal daily functions. It is time for a break.

Sabrné

I love a GRWM! 😍 these videos back when I first started watching your channel were so cozy and comforting!

Ashley Johnson

I hope you feel better soon ❤❤ This video was also the perfect length to watch while rolling my hair up before bed, so while you took yours out, I put mine in. 😅

Leila H

Does anyone know which setting lotion Rachel is using?

Sarah Posie

Feel better soon, hun! I can't wait for your England vlog! I'm currently working on releasing my second book and writing the next one in the series 📚✨

A.M. McPherson

We just had our wedding this last sunday and did DIY florals too! Coffee filters are a surprisingly great material to work with.

Sabrné

I hope you feel better, Rachel! As I'm watching this I'm working on sewing a crafty/makers apron out of worn through jeans for one of my honorary nephews--because one does not simply throw away denim! It's a combo of mine/my husband's pants so it's parti-colored. His 5th birthday is next weekend, so it's getting down to the wire, but it's coming together!

Allison Burris

Yay I love the GRWM videos. I'm making my first corset! So excited but nervous haha. Hope you feel better soon!

Hal Forbess

My boys won’t let me near that game! Every time I go to play someone already beat me to it! Looks great! I’m sorry you’re sick!

Jill Bennett, PharmD, MDiv

Your curls are always hecking adorable! My current project of sorts is to decide whether or not I want to run a half marathon. I know that's kind of a weird project and people think I'm crazy but I feel SUPER ACCOMPLISHED whenever I go the distance (cue Hercules). I've managed a 10K before but I'm curious to see if I can go further. In the short term, my project is to make a little compilation CD of my favorite Duran Duran songs because I'm ancient and like listening to CDs in my car in summer.

Maggie M.

Aww I hope you feel better! I have allergies so I can’t imagine what I’d sound like without congestion! Still working on my channel, which I don’t think I’d have done without loving yours so much. Your editing style is just the best!! I will admit- the duck honk will always be my favorite. Always makes me giggle. So, editing while watching and prepping for teaching Sunday!

Jill Bennett, PharmD, MDiv

I'm painting eyes on a doll for the zillionth time! TGIF!

Amber Monsterrific

I'm figuring out how to make my own leather book covers in order to plan out recovering some of my old hardcovers that are falling to bits. Trying to decide if Where the Sidewalk Ends, Grimm's Fairy Tales or Howl's Moving Castle should be my first project! Looking forward to the England vlog, and I hope you feel better soon!

Leah Webber

I love crafting to make gifts! I'm embroidering a hat for some family ☺️

Danielle

I am just doing some slight alterations on some clothes I got from a rummage sale. My boobs never fit right without some strategic darts.

Carly Black

I’m DIYing my 80s laundry into something more usable but with a Star Wars theme. I’m 3D printing little death stars for door handles, some art work for the wall and looking for containers to fit the theme.

Marian Casey

As I'm watching this, I'm playing Pharaoh: A New Era (a remake of the 1999 Pharaoh city builder). The crafting project I have in flight is a late victorian skirt to do some light history bounding in. I'm attending a wedding in September, so that's my impetus to get this project completed.

Marie Buhtz

You can do it!!!

Emily A

Hope you start feeling better soon! Congestion can be sooo frustrating. Currently knitting a sage colored tank top and later going to attempt to sew my first swimsuit :)

Anna Sutton

I’m also sick! And I’ve also played a lot of the new Zelda this week. Currently I have a big ole pile of mending that needs to be done. I’ll definitely probably get to it this weekend 🫣

Emily A

Hope you get well soon! ❤️ Since you asked what we’re doing while watching, I’m currently at work cleaning wig lace and preparing to wash a bunch of wigs since the opera season is coming to an end.✨ Definitely looking forward to your England Vlog!

Allison Burleson

I’ve recently decided to arrange my own florals and do my own hair and makeup for my wedding this summer, so my project time lately is spent experimenting with those!

Katherine O’Neil

Thank you! 🤗

tay

Hope you start feeling better, so you can enjoy your weekend! I went to Michaels today and got some inexpensive watercolor supplies. I’m more of a crafter than a fine artist, but I was inspired by a watercolor artist on Instagram and I decided to give it a shot! My expectations are very low, but I hope to have fun messing around with them!! 😂

Caryn Jones

Currently- It is a Friday afternoon at my job when everything for the week is done so no one is doing job things! SO- I am writing a book- sort of while watching your video (ie I am staring at the pages willing something to happen) No crafty stuffs yet- We close on a house June 1st- and that is when the crafting begins! Thanks for sharing your time with us, hope you feel better soon!

Kat Harness

So lovely to just have an informal chat ♥️ ooh projects! I just finished sewing my first pair of jeans! (They're by no means perfect - a little saggy in the bum, but crotches are hard) and now I'm thinking of what to sew for my next project

Alison Clare

That gown sounds like it's going to be amazing!

Alison Clare

I’m attempting to make my first-ever corset (and with boning!) for the Ren faire. Please send good vibes! ✨ imma need it.

Mandie Jackson

Thank you for another awesome video! <3 :D I'm making vegan meringues -and other goodies!- for a picnic I'm arranging for a few of us Boston-based Bernadette Banner patrons this weekend. First time trying to translate my non-vegan meringue recipe and so far it may actually be working! ^_^

Alyssa cohen

Projects! As I’m watching this, I’m working on rhinestoning a gown! I’m attending the Lavender Haze Ball (basically a Taylor Swift Prom) for my ✨30th✨ birthday this summer and I found a brand new gown from GOODWILL to wear for it for $13! I did have to take it in, but it was otherwise perfect. Already silver with many embroidered leaves on it, I am gluing small rhinestones to all the leaves to make it even more sparkly, as I’m going for an overall aesthetic to match the song “Mirrorball” / Folklore as an album overall. Your videos and many seasons of Ghost Hunters are helping me through 😅 Thank you!

tay

I hope you feel better soon!! I am also feeling like hot garbage today, but getting the notification that you had uploaded here brightened my day. 😇

Jules Hansen

I'm currently making a potted succulent for my best friend using embroidered cloth and wiring. So many Lil stitches... but it's coming along!

Jamie Vassar

Now I’m not doing Ever after wings I’ve moved onto Henry viii reconstruction. 🤩

Samantha Bertins

Have you thought of creating a discord? I'm working on an embroidery mural for my niece!

Kay

YAAAASẞS! I'm so excited to hear about your trip to England - it looked pretty dang magical

Alison Clare

I kinda love it when my voice goes raspy. Lol

Erica Airheart

What is that swirly stick you’re using qt the beginning?

Cait

Been waiting for this one 💗✨️
