Nice, really enjoying the podcasts when working. (I like how you're one of the few speakers which I can actually hear over the machinery 👍)
Pastoral Song by James Rebanks is a very interesting read. A Swan song almost, a yearning for going back to the old times of farming. He describes his life growing up on a small old time farm, learning about the land and the farm from his grandfather who was 'stuck' in his old ways, how his dad was being pushed by the economy to intensify and industrialise the farm, him taking over the rea economically pressured to do the same but eventually trying to convert it back. I know it's about farming, but it's an interesting viewpoint, that gives some context to why we are losing our species-rich hay meadows, grassland birds and overall ethics for the land.

This is my way to think about other plants...and forget a little about the fires destroying all, forget a little the mines, the solar panel, the monoculture...forget a little how bad is in Portugal
