Feedback on Geology Diagrams Requested

Let me know if the geology info in the first few minutes was easy enough to understand or if it confused the hell out of you. Specifically the diagram I drew is a bit fucking goofy and I'm wondering if I should re-do it.

Thanks in advance.

might move the illustration vertically about 1/8, the bottom labels get obscured by the captions

Hello, Tony. I thought the illustration was clear, and your explanation concise. That topographical map you show at about 4:00 reminds me of what Lake County looks like from the air, what with all the Moraines we have up here. I really liked the "ant farm" looking thing that demonstrated thrust faults and how they are formed.

Illustration made total sense and the sand demo made even more sense! I am definitely a visual learner. I will say I think you are finally getting me more interested in geology because of how dramatically it effects the local ecology. Thanks for widening my perspective of the world!!!

Absolutely in 100% agreement with the drawing/sand demo combo. I've heard you describe the process as a rug being pushed up against a wall before and pretty much understood it- but, the illustration and video combo really cemented it in my mind.

The drawing was perfect, but the sand demo really helped as well.

Sand demo + drawing really covered it all!

The diagram is sick. Always love your art. You talk kinda fast when you explain it though, maybe go a bit slower next time. But yeah man not hard to follow at all.

I like the black and white for our color blind friends. I wasn’t sure what the two heavy black horizontal lines were. I was thinking the top one may be the surface of the earth. I was then wondering if a blue sky would help. The arrows indicating direction of thrust: I wasn’t sure if they were slip faults like in the San Andreas (going north south). So I used the sand and the other images to make sense of the drawing. As a stand-alone drawing (without the sand) I would have questions about how to orient my brain to: where is the sky/earth surface? Are these up and down movements or over the earth movements?

The sand demo is great. Very clear illustration.

Ay, ya did a nice job! Sure as shit helps when you add the diagrams. I think Spencer's addition above about the salt horizon is a neat addition to it.

It's all good, the illustration, sand demo and carpet on a hardwood floor analogy. I got it.
