Excellent video. Beautiful, fascinating plants. Do you think some of them will get sent around the country to conservation organizations? I wish I could grow something like those in Houston. (Wish I could grow a lot of things in Houston besides kudzu, liriope and elephant ears, all “horticultural atrocities”) Ain’t nobody poaching anything here! 😄 By the way, are you now a Texan?! Welcome!

We have people around here that poach native orchids. Ninety percent of them don't survive. I know where some are, but I don't tell anyone else. It's unfortunate it has to be like this.

Awesome video. Would love to learn more details regarding temperature and metabolism, and how a plants survival depends on temperature cycles.

Good to bring attention to the greedy bastard poachers. Al's intros are always welcome, too.

Na it was good, real good like.

It pains me to admit what gorgeous cacti those poached species are. Perhaps "cuteness" is an evolutionary gamble that pays off big when it wins (see: cats, dogs, potbellied pigs), but sadly ends in extirpation otherwise. I love the message, and you really drove it home at the end by pondering how many more actually get poached. This is a stand-out episode of CPBBD.

I like the greenhouse tours. Reinforces that not everything in a greenhouse is a horticultural atrocity. I guess this means you worked it out with the guy from the coffee shop from the podcast? All the best from the PA magnoliacea dungeon

In my head I think "Do they need help reintroducing these plants?" Id never ask. The answer feels very involved. A list of further links in the description? idk. Thank you for the video! There are some boasai oaks in the shenandoahs. The person who told me only told me that they exist. I found them. When I found them I became v scared for their well-being. I intuited that day plant poaching exists. I never learned about it until now. Thank you again.

Honestly I loved it. Educational for sure, kept my interest the whole time. I also want to mail feces now 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

A nice hearty kick in the balls. Just kidding. You've done plenty of that already (lol).
