Sneak Peak LA River Botany

Spent some time around old haunts yesterday and made a video. Here's a sneak peak for Patreon supporters. Thank you all for your support and apologies if you wrote and I never responded. Don't hesitate to write me again, my mind is like a box of pinball thoughts bouncing around all at once and sometimes and I simply forget to respond.

Yeah I released it early by accident. It'll be out tomorrow

DAG- latest episode from today was one of THE BEST. Now it is missing. Huh. Strange. Oh well. Thanks for all you do!!!

I'm about 30 miles east of downtown, and wanted to tell you about a Ribes speciosum that I know of that has white flowers instead i[of the usual red. I checked with all of the experts that I could reach, but none had ever heard of one. It's likely only an albino, but still, it's the only one known to exist. It might be finished blooming for the season, when I checked a few weeks ago it was in bloom. I can give you the location if you like. I have pictures but not sure where I can share them

This must be close to where I’m at. So stoked to watch you speak about these plants I’m familiar with. There are pockets of neglected hills near Elysian park with a lot of things popping off (following fires from the vagrants). Would love to see some more LA shit.

Yeah I like this area of LA. Need to spend more time lurking on some taco trucks here next time

Interesting to see you out in my neck of the woods. I spent a year and a half working out of the bus yard just on the other side of that rail yard, would drive on the bridge at the beginning pretty much every day. Now I've moved on to working light rail, which is a very different kind of headache.

Yeah. The railroad probably did make him that way.

My gramps was an engineer, probably around 1910, it was his chosen career. I wonder what his life in the engine was like? I still have a Chessie the cat souvenier plate he gave my dad when he was a kid. I never met him, but he wasn't a very nice person...the railroad made him that way, according to my dad who wasn't very nice either. Glad you got out.

Which bukowski stories/poems do you recommend?
