Not anymore sweetie. You’re my precious girl now and one day you’ll grow up to be a beautiful woman, just like mommy. See, part of you is so eager they’re already growing. (Poke, poke) 

AHHhahah stop! That tickles! (Giggle) 

Aww there’s that pretty smile! I promise sweetie, you’re going to love being a girl. 

But I like doing boy stuff! I wanna go outside and play and I wanna ride my bike and go swimming with my friends and..and.. (Sniffle) 

You silly-head, girls do all those things! You can still go out and get dirty and play with your friends, but now you get to do all the fun girly stuff too. 

(Sniffle) Like what? 

Well, the first thing we’re going to do is have a mother daughter day! You’ll get to try on all the pretty clothes you want and no one will think twice about it, beyond what a pretty girl you are! Remember when I came home and found you in my dress that one time? 

…Yeah. I liked the yellow one. 

I know you did my sweet girl. Today, I’ll buy you your very own pretty yellow dress, and a pink, and a blue, and every other color of the rainbow! Then we’ll go to the salon where you'll meet a bunch of nice people dedicated to making you even prettier. We'll both get a mani-pedi and they'll paint your fingernails and your toenails! (Giggle)

Really? Can I pick the color? 

Of course you can! And afterward, I’ve booked us a late lunch at the tea-house. You'll love all the little cookies and pastries and other yummy things they have there!

I’m glad you think so! I think being a girl is the most fun. And this is just the first day! There’s so much more we’ll get to do together now. And when you want to throw on some old clothes to go outside and get muddy and have fun, you can do that too! You can do anything, my sweet girl, and I’ll be right here to help you and teach you.
