Home assistant with Dynaframe tutorial
Added 2023-10-10 08:50:47 +0000 UTCThis was requested so I threw together a quick tutorial of how I use home assistant 'scenes' via node red to control Dynaframe. I can redo this if it's not clear or based on feedback, and hope to do a more formal one soon, but I wanted to unblock those that have been asking for how to control frames from Home assistant.
For those that don't know, Home assistant is a home automation system that can be run on a raspberry pi and that allows for integrations with quite a large number of technologies and brands. It can interact with NFC tags, motion sensors, ambient light, weather and more.
For this video, I have a Zwave switch (zooz with 4 buttons) that controls 'scenes' in home Assistant. I talk about how I use those scenes in Node-Red to trigger http web requests which control the frames and can select a playlist or turn the frames on and off. I also go through how to find out the commands via the documentation or via the logs.
I hope this is helpful for those doing these sorts of things, and if this is useful I can make more of these!

So this one is one of my ultimate goals, but it's been VERY tough so far. Does your camera have an RTSP stream? If so if you can launch VLC on dynaframe (control T to get a terminal and then just type vlc and it should launch) then point that to your camera and let me know if it launches. That'll let me know if it's possible, and we can work on it

2023-10-10 14:24:30 +0000 UTCI been using node red for a long time and it works great / my ultimate goal is to get the outside camera to show on screen whenever someone rings the bell and then go back to pictures after 60 sec
