Discord link: https://discord.gg/FVAn6DyjG8 - This is the 'hangout' where we help and discuss things, but if you hit any issues at all feel free to message me directly on here!  We love seeing your frames, hearing ideas, discussing how it's being used and just meeting you all!

Releases
:

(If you're new, you want the September Release, Windows zip version)

September Release - Windows Zip version- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Fw-iiteQZMqyG3W6WHc6kj6jpkQhNfZt/view?usp=sharing

September Release - 7zip version (smaller download, requires 7zip) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pyVib4VycyeKXPue_HvALFuatRkB2BKQ/view?usp=sharing

Note: 7z files require 7zip: https://www.7-zip.org/ to open, I highly recommend this as it adds better zip management, and handles way more file types, including the img.gz that pi foundation uses regularly.  Using the 7z link to get your image will make the image zip which is 2.9 GB download, into a smaller 7z that is a 2.4 GB download

September Release - Store code - If you're already running a build, you can use this from the 'store' tab to update:

piSepDFP2-1af1bb4

Please Keep the store page open till the progress bar completes, and then hit 'run' to update the frame. Use the 'log' page to verify that you're now on 1af1bb4.

Alpha (New features) release (Store code only available)

October Alpha release - Store code -

(Edit: please reach out to Qwksilver in the patreon for this code so we can support you)

New in October release:

- Editor tab - Shows thumbnails of the playlist

- Ability to delete single files (from Editor tab)

- Ability to play a file 'now'

-Plugin engine (The first plugins and documentation will be out in October)

Known issues:

- Scifi build is out of sync and doesn't have new features yet.

- Thumbnail generation can be a bit intensive on the pi, and may prevent the web connection from happening if there's a ton of photos

- Testing has been limited.

Comments

I don’t know if one offhand. I know that Dynaframe really needs 1080p or lower for perf reasons. We have had people get 4k running by limiting a ton of things and curating everything but it’s rough at best. The pis 4k support is really poor. It can output the resolution but barely handle the codecs and graphical work to do even a cross fade unless you drop down to OpenGL directly

I'm having trouble getting my clients display to work. It's native resolution is 2160 x 3840. This is a bit odd size, I know. The display works fine with Windows 11. If I switch Dynaframe from a 1080P display after boot, all I get is a semi-random jumble of exactly horizontal lines. If I reboot, I get a black screen. I get exactly the same results if I use a recent, stock Raspberry Pi OS image. This suggests a HDMI driver issue. Any ideas for a possible fix?

I checked the green box in the #server-standards. client's display
