An update on Dropbox, video hosting, etc!

Hey guys!

Ignore the image for a sec (will explain it in a sec lmao), but yeah updates on the Dropbox / alternatives situation looking kind of wild. Cloud sharing alternatives are expensive as hell (like $150 USD minimum) and as we figured out, pCloud (the one we shared here) actually has traffic limits which is super disappointing.

Now for the image - long story short, this is something I've come back to after about a year and that is the idea of migrating to another platform.

This is just in beta test for me right now because there's still some stuff I need to know, but if things go the right way, this is where we might wind up.

Basically I'm looking at creating a membership site where you can subscribe exactly like you would on Patreon, with a like button and comments section and all, and you get exactly the same if not better experience than you do here.

Over there tags work, the video archive we have for Patreon can be listed as a link on the homepage for easy access, AND you can even create series (playlists!) although I don't know how to do this yet LMAO.

Even better, the day you sign up is the day your billing cycle starts (e.g 16th of March - 16th of April) not 16th of March - 1st of April then reset, and they seem to have their own in built hosting system and player which works REALLY WELL like the Patreon native player. Of course if I still have to do Dropbox then it'd be the same as over here for that but what can you doooo.

Even more, you can actually SEPARATE tiers. So for those of us not here for like K-Dramas or Anime, we could make a K-Pop only tier where your feed is just catered to K-Pop only, and likewise with other stuff. We could also have an All-In-One tier where you get just everything like you do right now on the Moon Tier(K-Pop, anime, K-Dramas, etc).

You can pay as well with cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal it looks like, and of course subscriptions are cancelable as they're month by month.

For Twitch viewers, apparently you can link your Twitch too and we can enable gifting of memberships through Twitch?! And Twitch subs can get discounts if enabled on my end for being subbed etc.

Oh AND there are subscriber streaks! So if you've been subbed for however long it says like:

"🔥 6 Month Subscriber" next to your name 🥲

Idk man like just having fiddled with it for a few hours I love the idea of it already, but what do you guys think? If we migrated, would you follow me over?

Oh, and you can opt in for email notifs too so that you don't miss anything or forget to check like Patreon, AND there's an app!

Just want to reiterate that I'm still learning and just playing with the idea of it right now, but what would you think?
