The Assassins' Monastery - Work in Progress
Added 2019-08-27 18:22:36 +0000 UTCSo, this is the next map, the Assassins' Monastery. Originally, it was meant to be a keep, but Anders, who proposed it to the Cartographic Congress, suggested giving it some form of cover, so it ostensibly became a monastery.
Also, this map has some roots in reality: the design was inspired by Rudkhan Castle, which was once controlled by the historical assassins (the Nizari Ismailis).
Anyway, I should have this up in a couple days. And in case you're curious, that's not a tiny table-- the map is around four feet long. Okay, back to work!

2019-08-29 20:32:44 +0000 UTCThat area in the bottom left is the secret rooms. I'm going to make a version without it, too, so people can hide it from their players or just use the map as a regular monastery.

I expected "The Assassin's Amulet"— a $20 resource —to have some really great maps or at least some ideas for really great maps in it, but they were pretty awful in my opinion. They were very cut-and-dry— no secret doors or hidden chambers anywhere on 'em. Nothing particularly interesting. Don't fall flat where they did! :)
