Heyyyyy kids!
When drawing mouths, you must keep three things in mind:
1) there are no straight lines. Our heads are an oval, so the mouth curves along that axis.
2) LIPS and CHEEKS are SQUISHY! When drawing a smile, frown or scream you must move the face with the action. For instance, show the skin around the mouth get pushed back with a smile which causes dimples and laugh lines to appear!
3) TEETH do not need to be individually drawn. You can indicate the shape with gum lines and the general shape of the ridges, but do not add the lines in between each tooth.
Unless you’re doing hyperrealism. It just looks awkward and your character gets the “ shark with human teeth” look. (Google that! It’s HILARIOUS)
Show me some smiles in the art chat! DRAW DRAW DRAW!
