ONEUS - 'Blood Moon' Album Listening Party!

Honestly, this joins Binary Code and Fly With Us as one of my favorite Oneus minis. I’m only hesitant to put it at the very top because I want to be certain it isn’t recency bias talking. I do think the song order could be altered a bit for a more coherent flow when listening from start to finish, but overall Oneus continues to show-off their skill and versatility. You might be interested to know that Yes Or No is actually a prequel to one of my favorite Binary Code tracks, Polarity! Ravn has fantastically crafted two songs with thematically similar lyrics but contrasting sounds and concepts all while chronicling the rise and fall of a relationship that was doomed to fail from the start. Some groups would be insane releasing songs like Shut Up 받고 Crazy Hot and Life Is Beautiful within a month of each other and then putting them one after another on the same album, but somehow Oneus makes it work. I remember when both Theatre tracks were released a lot of people wished they were title tracks because they were that good but then we were blessed with LUNA. Though LUNA was also supposed to be just a Theatre track so now I’m very curious as to what the original title track was going to be… We’re in Love is the first time we’ve gotten a track from Seoho and Leedo (& Hyunkyu from Vromance!) but you’d never know it. Leave it to the Tom and Jerry duo to come together and craft a masterpiece of a song. Frankly, if LUNA didn’t exist this might actually be my favorite track on the EP. It has this fantastical and uplifting quality to it that almost boarders on ethereal and goddamn do I vibe with that so much. I honestly don’t have much to say about Who You Are because the vocals just have me in a chokehold. Friendship ended with Happy Birthday now Who You Are is my Oneus sexy, slow jam. Final arbitrary score: 245/10 because that is the approximate number of minutes I’ve spent so far crying over this era. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
