Dev Diary for May

Hi guys,

it's been a hard month, sometimes I get a feeling that the project is falling apart. I'm not a big fan of sharing bad news, but it is what it is. Briefly on may updates:

So the short-term plan is to:

thanks, m8. Yeah, I know this feeling too :D

I felt the same a couple of times when making my own game. At times I had to force myself to take one or two weeks off to not burn out and it felt like I was letting the project down. That said I didn't even have to care about Patrons or a team. It must be incredibly hard for you to deal with all of that. You sounded quite stressed in the last few months, so please always remember that you got into game development with a passion. If you don't feel that passion currently or if you feel that your body can't take the work anymore it is a strong sign to loosen the grip a bit and take a well-deserved break. Could be a week, could be some months, who cares, well-being matters most :) The same goes for your team obviously. Personally, I don't even know how important voicing is since it seems like a ton of work (and not the exciting/fun type of work ... more like a grind). Wish you and the team all the best, and like many others, I'll stay here for sure. Especially in difficult times, support is needed more than ever :)

Well the thing you said about you sucking is completely wrong (even though I get where you are coming from, and I think in the same direction from time to time), the way the project have changed through the years is amazing imho. I still remember coming across the game on Newgrounds waaaay back. Now the art, animations, music, voice acting, imho story telling is all way better. Focus on not getting burned out, and you will get through it.

I think the best thing is being upfront on these matters, and you have, so personally, that is all I can ask for. I will continue to support you guys because I think it is a great project (even though I cannot support with much). Just focus on not getting burned out, imho, I don't mind much that there isn't many updates personally, the main focus should be on telling people where things are going, focus on that if you cannot give updates in the matter of the actual project. It will do me and I think many a lot of good to just know that you continue to work on the project and are looking for options when it comes to matters like Casey's voice actor. I love the fact that when it came to Lana's voice, you gave us samples for example, that is more than enough imo.

OdaNobunaga

you do whats the best for you. If it means you gotta take a break then dew it. Most important thing is you dont burn yourself/ves out. Take some time off.

Sir Rage

It's allllll goood dude. Chill, organize, take your time. It's a big project, imagine from what it was at first. You're really doing a great game, changing voice actor is ok.

Rizek

the scene are great but i think you guy need to reorganize your plan and timeline so you guy don t feel rush or wanting to give up

Bloodysparta7

Don't worry dude, we got this 🤟

I don't know if this'll make you feel any better but I'm currently doing the work of four different people because two of them stopped caring years ago, one got fired and the other is on short term disability and I make Snack Pack pudding (pretty lame). I've had those days where you get covered head to toe in pudding explosions working on a problem all night and have the next shift guy come in and solve it in two minutes so I definitely feel where you're coming from. So you definitely don't suck, you're just figuring out what doesn't work and what does. Stay positive, put your best foot forward and take every day one step at a time. You'll get there.

Jawn

thank you, my friend, though I still feel that I suck. And the more I'm trying to fix it and can't - the worse I feel about it. I can't influence surprisingly many moments of the project development :/
