Telesnap #40 - English?!
Added 2024-04-16 20:05:21 +0000 UTCEvening all,
Another new software tool called Viggle has presented itself which has shown a lot of potential. This is back to using motion-capture again, so requires me to act out the movement and lip-sync to the audio, which is hard work, but I think the overall movement is enjoyable. It does a pretty decent job of mapping a flat cutout of a person onto 3D movement and although it doesn't maintain the likeness, I think it's quite impressive that it can generate a turn of the head out of nothing.
I used it to make the two human movements on green screen and then composited them onto a blank plate, and added bushes over the top to create the depth in the shot. I manually composted in the bucket and splash and did quite a few fixes. It's a shame about the juddering body movement. I need to do a bit more experimenting to figure out what might mitigate the flicker (other than frame-by-frame clean-up, which I did a little of, but I don't want to get bogged down in one clip).
Oh and for the sake of accuracy, the shot should end with Kirsty looking through the telescope and then handing it to Polly, but I haven't yet figured out how I can use props with this software without it getting confused.
Thanks veryone for the continued support! Creag an tuire!!

Yes, the downside to the process is that they all inherit some of my characteristics to some extent!

2024-04-19 09:25:06 +0000 UTCRemarkable stuff. As another poster said, itβs the injection of actual performance that really shows the possibilities this offers.

2024-04-17 23:39:12 +0000 UTCEvery attempt in a new software package is a learning opportunity. I very much enjoyed this clip and think the video is plausible. Thank you for your efforts. Possibilities are changing so fast!

2024-04-17 12:37:18 +0000 UTCConsidering that this is your first work with a new tool, effectively a trial run, it looks fantastic; the potential is obviously there to achieve far beyond this. Thank you so much!

2024-04-17 08:54:27 +0000 UTCThe movement really brings it to life! Something thatβs missing from some AI picture to video things. Youβre adding PERFORMANCE, not movement. That is the key! Wonderful stuff x

2024-04-16 23:35:57 +0000 UTCThat looks great. The movement is really life-like. The only thing I'd criticise if you'll excuse me doing so is Kirsty's left hand, which looks a bit elongated at times. Is that maybe because a man's hand was the model?
