Telesnap #45 - Disrespect
Added 2024-04-02 11:00:08 +0000 UTCFirst attempt at using this new lip-sync on Troughton. It's not great. Part of the problem is that in the original telesnap, he's smiling and his eyes are closed, so it's all a bit uncanny for that reason. We're also just all very familiar with how the Doctor looks so doing the regulars is always going to be the biggest challenge. Other notes: I think the last lines feel wrong on this shot. I'm sure it would have cut away. And the Sergeant is meant to spit, which I'm not sure I can do very easily. Something to come back to!

I agree with Oliver Wake - if he closed his eyes in this telesnap, it might be worth seeing if an alternate shot of Troughton exists somewhere, and if you could Photoshop part or all of him from that shot to replace his face in this image. As it stands, one eye seems oddly higher than the other, and that is a bit uncanny & distracting.

2024-04-02 18:15:02 +0000 UTCThe Sergeant is good but as you say, Troughton less good. Would there been an argument for compositing an alternative Troughton face shot there before trying again? I appreciate it means it's not all based on the one original telenaps but I'd argue that doesn't matter if it's essentially the same and the result is better.
