The text would be this:

I knew you'd show up. I had a bait especially to catch you.
Lately several girls have disappeared, leaving only their shoes. It was rumored that a creature was responsible.
I guessed that the shoes were not to the creature's liking, and that's why the best bait was not to wear them. Am I right? You love this, don't you?"
