There was something about growing up in post war England that fostered absurdist humour. Pythons being the biggest example, but this has got a lot too

They were in their mid to late 20s by that point and wanted to do more mature media....they didn't get what the Monkees actually meant to people and say the time they've admitted that they were very, very full of themselves. I think they get that now and have since their first big reunion tour in the 80s lol
