NEW POLL: "It Was a Good Day" vs. "Regulate"
Added 2024-04-11 15:54:14 +0000 UTCI am tweaking into a whole new era, and I didn't even have to use my AK. I gotta say it is a good poll we have for you today, two absolute G-funk bangers and not a jacker in sight. So mount up and vote, which is the better smooth feel-good anthem of '90s hip-hop, Ice Cube's "It Was a Good Day" or Warren G and Nate Dogg's "Regulate"?

I guess Regulate was the only Pop crossover, but for what it's worth This DJ is also fairly well remembered by 1990s hiphop heads as Warren G's other hit, and I still hear it in the wild occasionally. The "Regulate... G Funk Era album" is overall pretty good, with This DJ and Do You See being the 2 tracks I'd recommend anyone for an abbreviated listen. That said the rumor at the time (seemingly since confirmed) is that much of the album's lyrics were ghost-written by Snoop Dogg, as Warren at the end of the day is much more a producer.
