I am very glad to hear Todd loves We Are The World parodies and homages, i wonder if he's heard the USA For Africa Shreds version

2024-04-06 18:18:30 +0000 UTCThe closest modern thing we have (after Earth) for We Are the World is probably that "Celebrities sing Imagine in their mansions"-thing from the early covid lockdowns. Even if that had collected money for charity I think the view people have of celebrities nowadays is not kind enough for a stunt like it. Also in the fucked up modern political landscape it would probably cause controversy to donate money for a good cause.

Pretty fascinating story about this deeply mediocre song that has been in the ether for most of my life. I still want you to cover Human Highway (which I keep calling "Heartworn Highways" - which you also need to cover - in my head) but this was an interesting one.
