Hi, friends. It's my week off from posting fiction, but I feel like we need a palate cleanser after last week's prickly fantasy, so here's one from the vaults: Guys Night In, an intergenerational frat-boy story.

Photos above of the room in the new house where I've been spending most of my time, my dining room/studio. Toward the center is the painting I'm working on, the next in the series of geometric paintings/murals I've been doing over the past seven years. It's about 50% completed and it's making me happy but also a little crazy. Honestly I could stand to get out more. Near it is the hibiscus I propagated from a cutting, it's like eight feet tall and pretty spindly cause I should have pruned it last year, but it's filling out and when it gets warm enough to put it on the porch I expect it'll go nuts. Currently flowering!
