That Time I Wrote a Porn Movie
Added 2021-12-10 13:00:00 +0000 UTCHi, friends. I'm having a rough week. It hasn't deterred my writing, but it's Friday and I frankly don't have anything that feels ready to post. So here's something different.
First, though, I recommend you read this true story about the most surreal thing that has ever happened to me. In short: I once sat down to watch a porn movie and soon heard my own dialogue being read back to me. Eventually I realized I'd been plagiarized by legendary porn director Joe Gage (Kansas City Trucking Company, L.A. Tool & Die). Contrary to what I said in that post, I don't give Gage the benefit of the doubt. I think he lifted my story from Nifty and didn't think he'd get caught, but I was too timid to say it at the time. And please, no well-meaning comments on how I should have sued. It was a long time ago, and I did what I did.
Anyway, the outcome of that plagiarism and me reaching out to Gage was that we collaborated on a script for his next movie which, at the time, was to be about men on a vineyard. Why a vineyard? Probably because Gage knew someone with a vineyard who would let him film there. I thought it was a lame idea but wrote four or five scenes for it just the same. The project never materialized but Gage used two of the scenes for his 2009 movie Dad Takes a Fishing Trip. I got a co-writing credit for that one, and I think $300. Whoop-de-shit, but it was fun and now I have my own IMDB page.
Attached is a PDF of one of the scenes Gage didn't use. I re-read it the other day and thought it was kinda cute and funny. Let me know what you think! And I'll have some new fiction to post very soon.

Natty

I am VERY familiar with the scene your dialog was used in... one of my favorites back in the olden days of internet p***. Figures that you had a hand or two in it. <3
