Hi everyone, these past two months I've mostly been working on Blender tutorials for the graphics half of the RPG series (it being a collaboration with Brackeys, who is covering the programming end of things).
So far the series has covered modeling, rigging, and animating a low poly character. This is admittedly ground which I have covered before in other series, but I think I was able to improve a lot on those previous attempts. Next up in the series is clothing, armour, and weapons (as well some programming videos showing how to integrate this all into the game's equipment system).
Last month I also released a one-off video showing how to create a tool for scattering objects in the scene, using the new physics simulation functionality available in Untity2017.
I apologise that the procedural generation series has once again been spurned in favour of new stuff. Just a few months ago I was talking big about focusing on only one series at a time, and always finishing it before moving on to the next project. Sadly, I seem to be incapable of doing this in practice.
In the background I've also been toying with several ideas for new programming videos. The top contenders at the moment are: creating a decent save/load system; implementing the 'ear-clipping' algorithm for triangulating polygons (with support for holes); and doing fun stuff with bezier curves. (See my twitter for more details). Let me know what things interest you most!
Thanks very much for the support here on Patreon,
Cheers!
