Progress Report - April

This will be the new format for news moving forward while we're between releases.

April was nice. The year was very hectic with January and March's updates being late, finding a new artist, getting the trailer and steam page up and running, etc. I was really glad to just get a month to relax a little.

I played some games, got some writing done, had headache after headache because April sucks. You know, all the usual things.

Maddie's chapter is going well. I'm 20,000 words into it (Average chapter in My Catgirl Maid was 10,000 words) and it should be wrapping up within a few thousand more words.

There's a couple of things to note about these chapters now that I've had the chance to work on them.

One: It's been awhile since I've written a short story like this so I hope the pacing is alright. It's like going back to movies after watching seasons of TV shows for a long time. All the story elements are there, just faster. Thankfully, the chapters will mostly just be fluff pieces.

And two: I'm not putting in any choices in these chapters. I want to tell the best fluff story I can and trying to jam choices into an already small format isn't going to do anything or be entertaining. I figure we're all just here to see a little more of the characters anyhow.

On the art front, Toxicguest finished the Maddie CG and will begin work on the Miyu one. I figure we'll get a scene once a month as it fits his commission schedule well. So the upper tiers can expect to see the innocent Miyu in an non-innocent fashion by the end of May.

Other than that. I'm just waiting for the damn allergies to go away and the weather to stop sucking so I can get rid of these damn headaches too.
